The Youtube Rap Remix Round-Up – 10/26/11
Mid-week hump… why don’t we have another Youtube round-up! Today’s theme is “rap remix”, so all of the following are beats that our rappers decided to flip and use for their own purposes. Nothing wrong with that, just as long as you recognize it’s not a completely organic offering. The first two in our collection are placed as such because they have, by far, the best production values among the group. Thai’s in particular, is up to 454′s usual impeccable visual standards. But don’t sleep on Miss TLu of On Fire, the girl shows promise. The rest of the gang include a collab by Toestah & Jen Chung, LA’s 3Strykes representing too, Lil Crazed with a little spin-off of MGK, DUKE keeping things fun with a LMFAO joint and Verse rounding out the pack. Lot’s of Jay-Z x Kanye beats in here, I guess they are a crowd favorite.

Thai Flys Out the “Broken Wings” MV
Earlier in the summer, Thai & 454 released a strong song called “Broken Wings” featuring Liz Stefano. They are now following up with a proper music video to promote it with, one that matches the track fairly well – especially the various shot locations. The only downside is that Liz doesn’t make an appearance in the video. You can chalk up another sharp looking release from the 454 crew. In general, we’ve seen a number of well produced MVs in the past 24 hours.
Thai Explains Why You Don’t Have to Be “Alone Tonight” [Free DL]
In recognition of his fans, Thai and 454 Life have released one of his older tracks as an hold-over for those patiently awaiting his next solo album. The cut is called “Alone Tonight”, an electronic/R&B influenced rap song made especially for the females. The song does feel slightly less than current, telling of it’s age, but it’s still a fair track and it’s available as a completely free DL. It may not be as strong as “Broken Wings” but I can’t think of a reason why you shouldn’t still give it a listen.

Thai x Liz Stefano Debut with “Broken Wings” [Free DL]
454 Life Entertainment’s Thai just dropped a brand new track entitled “Broken Wings” featuring Liz Stefano on the hook. I gotta commend Thai & company for this one because this just may one of his strongest releases yet. Liz’s contribution on the chorus perfectly balances Thai’s emotional raps over a sharply produced instrumental (courtesy of their in-house producer Traxamillion). I recommend that you don’t sleep on this one. The song is available as a free DL here.

[Update] It’s your standard 454 fare. Crystal clear visuals and snappy editing courtesy of GINOROCKS with Thai & Trax spitting in various locales around town. The track is a good look from Thai, not straying to far from his style and content that has carried him all these years. I can dig it.
Thai Releases the “Super Bass” Remix MV
Thai, of 454 Life Entertainment, has just dropped his latest music video – a remix of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass”. Although he brings back his double-time flow for the track, this one is definitely aimed at the ladies. As is par for 454, the visuals remain sharp though I can’t say this is the most inspired release I’ve ever heard from Thai. No matter, cause it’s a decently fun listen that you can DL for free here.
Nump Trump Releases The #DAILYMEDICATION Mixtape
One of 454′s more animated artists, Nump Trump, has just dropped his new mixtape entitled #DAILYMEDICATION. The plant influenced tape includes 21 tracks and feature spots by Traphik, Michelle Martinez, and Bambu along with some production by 6 Fingas. He’s already leaked a few of the tracks before including, “Racks on Racks” Remix, “Macho Man Randy Savage“, and “I’m Hungover“. All of it is available as a free DL.
Nump Trump Leaks “Macho Man Randy Savage” [Free DL]
454′s Nump Trump teams up with The Stooie Bros. and Paul Wall for a new track called “Macho Man Randy Savage”. It’s one of the tracks that will be on his #DAILYMEDICATION mixtape due out in a couple days. The song is definitely party oriented though not something that had me jumping out of my seat though it’s a pretty big look for them to get Paul Wall on the track. If you can’t wait for the whole mixtape to release, you can pick up the song as a free DL here.
Thai x Drew Deezy Drop Remix MV for “Gang Bang” [Free DL]
Here’s the latest 454 production. Label mates Thai & Drew Deezy remix the Wiz joint “Gang Bang”. Lots of gang signs, bandannas, rough looks and tough talk. Personally not too crazy about this one but same time it’s not really my brand of Hip-Hop to begin with. The video’s sharp looking but more of the same. Get the track for free here.
New Thai MV – “Rollin” [Free DL]
The 454 crew is back with another mini music video. Thai takes center stage again with a track called “Rollin” where he’s spitting around SoCal while pushing a Benz. It’s your average rapper visuals but editing and visuals are sharp and the song is That doing what he does best. If you like the track you can DL it for free here.
