Lately, we’ve seen a lot of demo-type previews of upcoming work from Andy Suzuki & the Method, but this most recent offering is a showcase of an already released single. “Take Care of Me” is from February’s Ghost Stories EP, and the band chose to go a simple but well executed route for the video. A single, slow-motion single long take is utilized to take us through a house party before bringing us to it’s inconclusive end. Loved it.

Andy Suzuki & The Method Present an Acoustic Studio Session of “Lucy”
Remember Lucy? Before you get too confused reminiscing on some gal you knew years ago by that name, let me clarify and say I meant the song that Andy Suzuki shared with us a few weeks ago. Because that was a rough, webcam quality cut, but we can now hear a more polished studio session version – properly mic’d up and everything. The guy is repping acoustic soul to the fullest.
Andy Suzuki Offers First Listen of “Johanna”
Frontman for Andy Suzuki & The Method has shared another preview song from their yet-to-be-named album. The latest is a tune called “Johanna” and is once again presented in the acoustic guitar form. Fans who have been keeping up should now start to have a pretty decent idea of what their project will sound like. Take a listen!
The In-Studio Covers Youtube Round-Up – 4/26/12
Thursday feels about right for another round-up, what do you think? We’ve put together a collection of in-studio performance videos where the artists chose to stay in the comfort of their creative environments. R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, and everything in between all have representation in this mix. With 10 videos, I’m positive you’ll find something to enjoy, if not all.
A couple notes:
- Sam Tsui kills it again.
- I still can’t believe that new Brian McKnight song actually happened
- I prefer Gabe’s version of “Strip” to the original
- Erika’s cover/flip is on point

Andy Suzuki Provides Another Preview – “Lauren”
Every few days, Mr Andy Suzuki seems to be offering up demo-like glimpses of songs of an upcoming album by him and his band, The Method. Today brings is a little ditty called “Lauren” that evokes a little bit of John Mayer; not a bad direction to go. I couldn’t help but chuckle when I realized the percussionist was oh-so-subtly tapping the guitar during the performance.
Andy Suzuki Shares Snippet of “Lucy”
After being given a glimpse of Andy Suzuki & The Method’s upcoming project in the form of the song “Virginia”, we are offered another sneak peak; and this one is called “Lucy”. A little acoustic soul never hurt anyone, and this track looks to be just that. Let’s see come album release time if the studio version will carry the same bluesy vibe.
Andy Suzuki Offers Preview of “Virginia”
Andy (frontman of Andy Suzuki & The Method) has posted up a little preview of an acoustic ballad called “Virginia” that straddles the line with a touch of sadness and hope. The shirtless Andy says this is from an upcoming project, so we’ll have to wait on the studio version, but I’m definitely liking what I’m hearing thus far. Take a listen, what do you think?
The Performance Covers Youtube Round-Up – 3/29/12
It’s early Thursday here on the East, but it seemed just as good a time as any for another round-up batch. Today’s common denominator is that all of these videos are performance clips. Now that does’t necessarily mean each of these was shot in front of an audience, although some were; rather it simply means there is no lip-sync involved. The audios are comprised of a single take, though some of the the video footage is via multi-camera set-ups. That being said, you have an assortment of performance stages ranging from a bedroom to a full-scale live audience. Just for good measure, we’ve thrown in a clip that blew us away from a Korean singing competition. Check it out at the end, you won’t regret it!

Andy Suzuki & The Method Perform “Take Care of Me”
In what they’ve dubbed ‘The Living Room Sessions’, Andy Suzuki and his band, The Method, perform “Take Care of Me“, a song off their recently released The Ghost Stories EP from earlier this month. I just wished they had a slightly more extensive audio set-up, because the camera audio is not doing the song justice. Take a watch/listen and let us know what you think.
The Jam Session Youtube Covers Round-Up 2/27/12
When you put a bunch of talented artists in a room with instruments and a camera, the inevitable Youtube jam session is going to occur. That’s the binding theme among today’s round-up, with all the covers being mostly raw footage of artists and their friends (and sometimes family) singing their hearts out to their favorite songs of the moment. How’s an even dozen sound to you? It’s a lot? Well you better get started!
