Just ‘Cause: See the Trailer to UPLOADED: The Asian American Movement

In July of last year, we shared with you a documentary that was in the works called Uploaded: The Asian American Movement. Now, all these months later, the film is complete and ready for it’s premiere at the Los Angeles Pan Asian Pacific Film Festival. You can now view the trailer, which gives us a look at all the interviews and the overlying focus of this film – a movement that is near and dear to our hearts at a-Tunes. Check out all the additional information after the break, and if you’re in LA, don’t miss the premiere on May 16th!

Why? Just ‘Cause.

Mike Whang of TNB & Daniel Chae of FNI Release ‘Chantry Flats’ Worship Album as 37th Place

The Nehemiah Band, Feats in Inches, & Monsters Calling Home are some of the many Southern California acts that run in the same circles, often swapping members between them and creating various side projects. 37th Place is yet the latest example, with Mike Whang of TNB & Daniel Chae of Feats coming together and releasing a worship album called Chantry Flats. It’s currently available on Bandcamp but will be up on other digital distributors very soon. Check out this short, 6 track offering from the two very talented artists.

Chantry Flats is the starting grounds to several historic hiking trails along the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California’s Angeles National Park. It’s also Mike Whang’s go-to spot for crying out to God.

Feats in Inches Share Studio Performance of “Broken Parts”

The band Feats in Inches and their camp have a knack for putting together some great session performance videos, blurring the lines between behind the scenes and official music videos. Their new clip for “Broken Parts” is a fun watch though simple in concept with two frames side by side offering different perspectives. The song does a pretty good job of building demand for some officially released studio material. I noticed a pair of crutches in the back, props to whomever is still rocking out while being impaired.

Feats in Inches Shares “A Song Dos” Performance

About time! We haven’t heard from Feats in Inches in quite some time but the rock group and label mates to Jennifer Chung & Clara Chung are back in action, dropping a new performance clip for the song “A Song Dos”. There’s some pretty impressive video work here, blending the lines between perrfomance video and music video while definitely stepping the game up compared to all the other clips on Youtube. I’m really looking forward to more new material from these guys.

DJ Descry Remixes Clara Chung’s “Wake Up in Neverland”

Clara Chung may have just released her album The Art in My Heart, but DJ Descry of TNB has already put up a sick remix of one of the tracks! He’s taken the song “Wake Up in Neverland” featuring vocals by Clara Chung and Feats in Inches and mixed in his own unique instrumental, putting a great spin on it with an infectious beat.

For music geeks: this remix features new drums, synth lines (Cypher/FXpansion Synth Squad), bassline (Moog Little Phatty), vocoder (SONiVOX Vocalizer), glitches and UAD plug-ins (Neve1073/Manley Massive Passive).

You can grab the track for 75 pennies, or 15 quarters, or 7 and a half dimes, or 3 quarters. But don’t take my word for it, listen to it first below and tell me it’s not worth it.

Feats In Inches Perform “Dreaming” in Studio Session

Check out this newly posted studio session of the fellas from Feats in Inches performing “Dreaming”. The video work is on point and the guys sound great on this moody rock song. The song is more instrumentation than vocals but in this case that’s fine by me, they still convey the vibe perfectly. Can’t wait to hear/see more from this band.

Feats In Inches Release Studio Session Recording of ‘No Use Pretending’

Rock Band Feats in Inches has released a new A/V recording of a studio session where they tracked their single “No Use Pretending”. It’s crazy what can be done in a home studio now. I was feeling the snare percussion, gave it a cool marching band type of feel. Overall it’s a dope release and quite frankly I can’t wait to hear more. This group almost has a U2 type of feel to them.

Esna Yoon, Ben Bae, Feats in Inches, Alex Hwang, and The Nehemiah Band Shout Out Manifest

We already told you about the star-studded event that is Mani’s West Coast album release party, but a bunch of other AA artists have gone on video, publicly giving him the co-sign. Esna Yoon, Ben Bae, Feats in Inches, Alex Hwang and TNB all show their love and encourage you to come out if you’re in beautiful Southern California. With so many people vouching for the guy, how can you not?
