“No Chase” MV Released by Hopie Spitshard

Last September, the Raw Gems album was released by Hopie Spitshard. Since that time, we’ve seen the promotions of the singles, “Like Love“, “It’s Beautiful” and “Say Goodbye“. “No Chase” is the next number to be given a visual push, with Aris Jerome at the helm for the video of the 6Fingers produced song. Hopie always keeps things interesting with her creative choices.

The Solo Rap Cyphers Youtube Round-Up – 5/11/12

I’ll keep this one short and to the point. Rap. Remixes. Cyphers. The production values are low, and these are one-off verses over other people’s beats, many of which you should recognize if you’re a Rap fan. These are simple and to the point… or maybe even lazy in some cases, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Alternative Retro Version of Hopie Spitshard’s “Yummy” MV Released

A couple years ago, Hopie Spitshard dropped an MV with Kid Heroes for her single “Yummy” from her album, The Diamond Dame. Now, after all this time, the video production group decided to post up an alternative, 1990′s esque cut of the visual. This is definitely less VEVO and more YO! MTV Raps. In a way, I enjoy this version more – it reminds me of a simpler time in Hip-Hop. But I suppose that’s may just be cause I’m getting old.

The Non-Top-40 Youtube Cover Round-Up – 3/4/12

We decided to switch things up a little bit, and only share songs that aren’t exactly radio chart toppers. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to hear any of these songs on the radio (even when they first debuted). Now just because these songs weren’t spun on national airwaves doesn’t mean they should be ignored. They just didn’t have the marketing push to get them up on that national level or were sungs by niche, independent artists themselves. The only semi-exception is the medley that Jeremy Passion sings of songs by popular artists that were never promoted.

Hopie x Jayne Rio Unveil MV for “Say Goodbye”

Hip-Hop artist Hopie Spitshard brought us a new LP in the form of Raw Gems last September, and she continues to promote the project with the latest single being “Say Goodbye” (prod by 6 Fingers) featuring Jayne Santayana, better known to most as Jayne Rio. Dutton Films once again provides the visual work for the music video, with their trademark retro effects fully in tact. The inclusion of Jayne on the hook gives this song more mass appeal than some of Hopie’s other work.

Showdown: On Fire Ent x Rocky Sandoval vs Hopie Spitshard vs Lyricks x Decipher x The Yellow Boyz x JL x Excel Cruz x Koreone x Manifest x Smokes

Welcome to another episode of Showdown, where we have a little friendly comparison of artists that cover/remix the same songs and then vote for the one we think pulled it off better.

With Drake being undoubtedly one of the hottest acts in the business right now, it’s no wonder why his music has been covered and remixed by artists thousands of times over. For this installment of our Showdown series we’ve decided to highlight a few recent remixes of Drake’s song “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne. This one is a three way battle with On Fire & Rocky in one corner, Hopie repping the fairer sex on her own in another, and a huge mega roster of artists in the last corner – comprised of Lyricks, De, The Yellow Boyz, Excel Cruz, Koreone, Manifest & Smokes. So by all means, go ahead and take a listen to the three renditions and vote for your favorite below!

Hopie Spitshard Shows “It’s Beautiful” ft LuckyIAm

“It’s Beautiful” is the latest single push off Hopie Spitshard‘s, 6 Fingers produced, Raw Gems album that dropped a couple weeks ago. The song & accompanying Music Video features Hopie and rapper LuckyIAm in various sunny California locations, with the odd aspect ratio being the only major distraction. A decent watch/listen to help pass the time on your Wednesday/Humpday afternoon.

MYX TV has uploaded one of the recent segments from MYX-Rated featuring Hopie Spitshard. The female MC takes the stage to perform a medley of her songs including “Higher, Higher” and “Yummy” – in that order. The usual great production values are present, as is to be expected from the MYX crew. How’s that for your weekend serving of some Bay area Hip-Hop?
