Back in May, we shared with you a promo video put together by the Kollaboration Acoustic 5 crew but now the actual show is only a couple days away! It’s your chance to catch artits like Alexa Yoshimoto, Chrizle, Ensemble Memo, Jason Yano, Lindsey Yung, The Mood Junkies, Nessa Rica, Teesa, and Tranley all compete for the right to be this years champion. The Kollaboration Acoustic 5 Performers Release Cover MV of “New Soul”

It’s that time again, Kollaboration Acoustic is at it’s 5th show and all set to go down on Friday June 17th in Hollywood. And as is the tradition here’s a dope promo video they put together covering Yael Naïm’s infectious “New Soul”. Priscilla Ahn is the headlining guest performer and the following will be competing for the right to be this year’s Kollaboration Acoustic champion - Ensemble Memo, Alexa Yoshimoto, Nessa Rica, Tranley, Jason Yano, Lindsey Yung, Chrizle, Teesa, and lastly The Mood Junkies. It’s late, but we just wanted to share the breaking news that Dawen has reportedly taken top honors and won this years Kollaboration Acoustic 4 event. a-Tunes extends a huge congratulations to him, as well as to all the other competitors who undoubtedly put on a fantastic show. Can’t wait till I get to attend a Kollaboration event… which we’ll have some news about another day =).

Spotlight: Esna Yoon

We’re back again with a brand new episode of Spotlight. We had the awesome chance to meet and speak with one of the most talented songwriters doing her thing right now; LA’s very own Esna Yoon. She shares about her craft, her goals, collabing with other artists like Dumbfoundead, Sam Ock, and Summerbreeze, what it’s like trying to make it in LA, her experiences with Kollaboration and more! Stay tuned till the end for a special exclusive performance of her original song “You Fool”.

The latest installment in the awesome Kollaboration Acoustic series has been announced and is set for the end of summer – August 27th, 2010. Check out that awesome list of competitors! There are a bunch of names I recognize including Esna Yoon, Lilian Bui and Dawen along with a bunch of people I’m not so familiar with but look forward to hearing more about. Make sure to check it out if you’re gonna be in Southern Cali at the end of August!
