Last month, the rapper formerly known as Aero-K released an album called the Bedroom Project under his name, Alexander Jung. The project featured the previously released single, “DRMR”, and contains features from Lyricks, Misfit, Braille and others. One of the songs on the album is “Mother’s Day”, for which the music video was released yesterday to coincide with the holiday. But this isn’t some happy, lovey-dovey tune; it’s actually a dark and hauntingly honest dissection of Jung’s experiences with the matriarchal figures in his life.

The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 5/3/12
We did it before, a couple months back; bringing you a collection of remixes done by artists that chose to forgo creating a video too. Instead we get a mixture of static images, cover art, and if we’re lucky, a slide show of some type. This has been a staple of the digital age for Hip-Hop artists, as it’s too time consuming to make a video for all their mixtape-ready songs – whether or not you feel they are cutting corners is a completely different story. At the very least you can listen to the following in the background, knowing your not missing much by not paying attention to the (lack of) visuals!

Crooked Apples Presents the Crooked Mixtape by Misfit

Ryan Lee, better known to many as MC Misfit, has been talking about his Crooked Mixtape for months, but today is the day that it’s officially dropped. There are a mixture of remixes and original material on there, including “So Crooked“, “Opium Dreams“, “No Good” and more. It’s a pretty healthy sized release, weighing in at 17 tracks – a good thing for those wanting some new material from the West Coast MC. Download it for free, compliments of CA, here.
The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 3/6/12
If there’s one thing rappers love to do, it’s dropping remixes. Now, everyone is taking the extra step to differentiate themselves by putting together full music videos for their remixes, but the easy way out is to throw some cover art or an image over the track and post it to Youtube. That’s exactly what’s been done here. All the songs are pre-recorded, studio-esque quality songs, most available as a free DL, but there is hardly a visual to match – effectively turning Youtube into a new school jukebox. At least Jin took it a half step further and threw some lyrics up on one of his videos! (To be fair, I prefer this over the webcam rap videos…)

Alexander Jung (Aero-K) Collabs with Lyricks and MC Misfit on “DRMR”
Happy President’s day everyone! Hopefully you had today off, but if not, maybe some new music will help move it along. Alexander Jung (formerly known as Aero-K) has a new track out, a collaboration with Lyricks and MC Misfit called “DRMR”. The song is the lead single off Alex’s upcoming debut solo LP - Bedroom Project. Jung isn’t quite as polished as his counterparts, and their addition to the song really help by given it some added firepower. You can DL the track from his bandcamp.
Misfit Shares “Angela’s Intermission (3 O’Clock)”
Misfit, from the City of Angles, returns with a new joint called “Angela’s Intermission (3 O’Clock)”, where he puts on a Drake type sing/flow over an instrumental produced by cLAsicc. This one clocks in at under 2 minutes, so it’s a shorter track, making the title all the more appropriate. Have a listen and feel free to tell us what you think?
