Young aussie singer, Maribelle Anes, has put together another new original called “Behind the Scenes”. The song is an enjoyable mid-tempo Pop/R&B song though it has some moments of striking similarity to Jordin Spark’s “One Step at Time”. Whether intentional or not, it’s a decent track though now we’re left wondering when will she officially put up her songs for sale/download?

Jennifer Chung Unveils More Information About Her Upcoming Mixtape
We’ve been hearing about Jennifer Chung‘s Pop mixtape since the latter half of last year, but all indications point to it being finally near completion. We now have a release date – May 12th – and for those lucky enough to be in the SoCal area, she’ll be hosting a release party. The project is a lot more pop oriented, with the production handled by SmashHitta, and is comprised of a mixture of originals and perhaps a few covers thrown in for good measure. It’ll be available as a free DL, so no need to worry if you’re a little tight on the fundage. And expect a number of features, including Maribelle Anes and Toestah.
Maribelle Anes Presents “More Than Friends (Mas Que Amigos)”
Things just got real…. bilingual. Maribelle decided to put a little Latina influence into her new song, “More Than Friends (Mas Que Amigos)”, bu injecting some lines of Spanish throughout the lyrics. Anes admits it’s more for effect than accuracy, as she isn’t fluent in the language, but overall it’s an enjoyable pop song with a little bit of an urban bounce. A rap break could have been the icing on the cake.
The Cover MVs Youtube Round-Up – 4/23/12
The first round-up for the last full week of April is a collection of cover music videos. The bread and butter of most Youtube artists are their cover videos, and sometimes they go the extra mile and put together a music video set to the tune/instrumental written by another. This particular batch of videos happen to be mostly of the R&B and Hip-Hop variety, but a couple of Pop records found their way into the mix too.

The “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber Cover Round-Up – 4/16/12
At first we were considering putting together a Showdown for “Boyfriend” by the Beebz (since it’s been a while), but after looking at all the covers we’ve compiled we realized it’s just not feasible. Artists seem to love J Beezy just as much as the rest of his fans because we have 9 covers of a month old song – and I’m sure we missed a few along the way. Anyway, if you haven’t hit your “Boyfriend” replay quota yet, then have at it with the following!
Maribelle Anes Sings About a “Pretty Face”
Aussie, Maribelle Anes, whipped up a new Pop/R&B ditty called “Pretty Face” that touches on the topic of falling out of touch with an old friend. She sings over an acoustic guitar (which she’s pretty proficient at), and overall this song has a lot of potential to be a light, summertime Pop hit if tracked properly. Let’s hope she goes into the booth and see’s this one to completion!
Just chillin’ in my backyard and came up with a new original song. Do you have an old friend who you no longer see any more but miss so much? Link this video to them

The Youtube Cover Collabs Round-Up 4/11/12
Collaboration is the word of the day, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in the following Youtube covers. From the large acapella offering by AJ Rafael & Friends to the more low-key duo of all the other tracks, each video features at least one of our artists in conjunction with some peers. Everything from Lauryn Hill to Trey Songz to Katy Perry is here, so if you have a few minutes to kill, enjoy!

Maribelle Anes Presents “We’re In Love”
This could be the most refreshing track from Maribelle Anes that I’ve heard in some time. She sidesteps the usual production heavy Pop & R&B tracks for a stripped down, ukulele backed track called “We’re In Love”. She also takes the opportunity to just be her age, and not so focused on presenting herself as a budding international Youtube Pop star.
The Remixed Electro-Pop Songs Youtube Round-Up – 3/7/12
We’re still catching up on the ever growing list of covers and remixes that we come our way everyday, but the common theme among this post’s videos is the fact that they are all dance/electronica/pop related in their original forms. We’ve got everything from the dubstep vibes of Skrillex to the dance influenced stylings of Kelly Clarkson’s more recent single. While some have retained some resemblance to the originals, most have been flipped in a pretty drastic way.
