Gear heads and those with a predilection for the blending of technology and music (ME!ME!ME!) should really appreciate this video. Paul Dateh uses a variety of audio gear, including the beloved iPad in conjunction with an Alesis iO Dock. Of course, Paul’s trusty violin makes an appearance too. Gotta love those who like to push boundaries with how they create art!

Victor Kim Stars in the First Episode of ‘Away We Happened’ by Wong Fu
If you were paying attention, you probably noticed the new web series we told you about by Wong Fu (in a partnership with AT&T). ‘Away We Happened’ stars Victor Kim and Jen FrmHeadToToe (along with a lot of product placement). Music is taken care of by David Choi & Paul Dateh. Remember, this is where you get to help decide the direction of the series. Check out the details, below!
David Choi x Paul Dateh x Victor Kim Work with Wong Fu on a New Series
OK, stay with me folks because there’s a lot of information to tell here. What do David Choi, Paul Dateh and Victor Kim have to do with Wong Fu? Well, the former two are helping score a new series by the video production outfit, and Victor is one of the main stars (along with Jen) of the story. What makes this particularly intriguing is the story isn’t written yet – at least not fully. Remember those choose your own adventure stories from when you were a kid? Well WF is taking that premise, and using audience participation to help dictate where the narrative will go. Oh, and this is sponsored by AT&T… so it’s kind of a big deal. The next 6 weeks are going to be jam packed for everyone involved, but I personally can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
“Away We Happened” is a new and unique web series where you help decide what happens! Wong Fu Productions (Wes, Ted, and Phil) has teamed up with AT&T and their friends Victor Kim and Jen FrmHeadToToe for this one of a kind project starting May 21st!

Jane Lui Debuts Video for “Heaven on a Hill” (feat Paul Dateh & Danny Morledge)
Personally, I can’t get enough of Jane Lui and her music – and the fact that she’s not uploading some half-hearted cover video every week makes me appreciate her material all the more when something is released. “Heaven On a Hill” is a joint collaborative effort with Paul Dateh & Danny Morledge, and she’s also put together a video for the sweeping acoustic song. The trio make a great team, and this is a song worth checking out. Lyrics & BTS footage can be found after the break.
Just ‘Cause: See the Trailer to UPLOADED: The Asian American Movement
In July of last year, we shared with you a documentary that was in the works called Uploaded: The Asian American Movement. Now, all these months later, the film is complete and ready for it’s premiere at the Los Angeles Pan Asian Pacific Film Festival. You can now view the trailer, which gives us a look at all the interviews and the overlying focus of this film – a movement that is near and dear to our hearts at a-Tunes. Check out all the additional information after the break, and if you’re in LA, don’t miss the premiere on May 16th!

Paul Dateh Introduces You to the “Darkest Point”
In this clip, Paul Dateh does what only Paul Dateh can do, putting his musical prowess to work among an assortment of instruments to perform “Darkest Point” – a re-imagined interpretation of Noel Pointer’s “Rainstorm”. This is another Dateh production sans vocals, but quite frankly the soundscape he creates is so lush, you don’t even need ‘em. We first heard this last year, but it’s still as engrossing as ever.
Listen to a Preview of “Break” by Paul Dateh
Following his last update just a couple days ago, Paul Dateh has provided a sneak peak at another song – although it’s still a work in progress. This one is called “Break” and will be on a future EP if all goes according to plan. Paul’s music is sounding rich and richer, and hopefully the rest of the project will be as promising as this snippet.
Here’s a rough-draft preview of a track I’m working on for my yet-to-be-titled upcoming EP. Hope you like what you hear! Thanks for your continued support and encouragement. As a musician and as a person, I truly appreciate it.
Paul Dateh Shares “Railways”
Paul Dateh has put together a little audio/visual peace called “Railways”, inspired by his favorite mode of transportation. The video clip contains footage of the Metro Gold Line in LA, where you get to see some of the best views of the city and it’s surrounding area. There’s no lyrics or vocals in this one, just a calm, relaxed instrumental. If you’re a soundcloud kind of guy, you can listen via the widget below too.
My favorite way to travel is by rail. We have a few rail lines in LA, and I like to take them whenever I can. The Metro Gold Line is one of the nicest with awesome views of DTLA as you travel over the 101 freeway. It’s a very calming ride, and I made this track to try and match that vibe.
Listen to “Weightless” by Paul Dateh

If you’re in the mood for something soothing and relaxing, check out this new instrumental piece by Paul Dateh. He sets it to some footage he shot of various jellyfish and sea creatures wandering through their acquatic space, making the song “Weightless” all the more appropriate. You didn’t think Paul could only do the violin did you?
I recently celebrated my birthday with a trip to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. I enjoyed all of the exhibits, but I was especially captivated by the jellyfish. I spent about 30 minutes watching these brainless, heartless creatures gracefully float around in their tanks. I took some video of them to share with you.
