Shin-B Debuts “H.U.H. (Hands Up High)” & “Rodeo Drive”

We’ve been hearing about this track for a while now, but Shin-B has finally given it an official debut. It’s called “H.U.H. (Hands Up High)”, and is another electro/Hip-Hop song in the same style of much of Shin-B’s more recent offerings. So you can expect an upbeat, dance-inspired type of instrumental (courtesy of THX) coupled with Shin’s trademark raspy, staccato vocals.

You can also check out “Rodeo Drive” (produced by Kletus Kasady), a more mid-tempo offering with biographical content regarding her parents and their upbringing as a family.

Shin-B Raps (and Sings!) on New Acoustic Joint – “Regrets”

This one caught us a little bit by surprise, but Shin-B has posted up a new song that heavily samples the song “We Are the People” by Empire of the Sun. It’s called “Regrets” and has Shin actually singing (without autotune) the majority of the track with a small rap break in the middle. Who knew the girl was a half decent crooner too? Now, she ain’t Adele, but it’s sorta like hearing a female Drake serenade a few notes. It’s not studio quality, but you can get the song for free, here.

New Music From Shin-B – “Love Hurts”

Shin-B has unveiled a new track that isn’t quite as cheerful as some of the other material that was released in honor of Cupid’s day. The title, “Love Hurts”, should be self explanatory as Shin uses the three minutes and change to recount a rough personal time in the fight arena that is known as a relationship. DL the song for free via Bandcamp and you will find the lyrics after the break.

Dedicated to the ex bf who broke, stomped, crushed my heart 7 years ago. Thanks jerk.

Shin-B Shares Preview of New Single – “Life Goes On”

Just because Shin-B‘s long awaited debut album dropped in the latter half of last year doesn’t mean the artists is ready to take a rest. The bilingual emcee continues to be hard at work, with the following preview of “Life Goes On” and “Trying to Find Me” serving as proof. The former’s production duties are handled by Madli Kents and the latter by Silver. We should hear the full versions of the tracks in the near future – but you should have a fair idea of what it sounds like via the widget below.

Shin-B Unveils “Fly High”

Shin-B has dropped another previously unreleased joint from the vault, a song called “Fly High” where she uses a dope instrumental produced by Knowledge. By now you should be becoming familiar with Shin’s style – an electronica influenced instrumental, a touch of auto-tune on the hook, all anchored by her rap verses. Check it out and DL for free via Bandcamp.

Take a First Listen at “He Knows” and “Lifes Goes On” by Shin-B

Shin-B has given everyone a first listen/peek at two upcoming tracks she has in the works – “He Knows” and “Life Goes On”. It would appear that the ever changing rapper is beginning to find the right balance between her penchant for traditional flows mixed with unorthodox, electronica-inspired beats. Take a listen via the bandcamp widget below and tell us what you think of her new projects.

Shin-B Guest Raps for MMA with Emilio Rojas on “Remember the Days”

Shin-B has a new collaborative track out with MMA on a song called “Remember the Days” also featuring Emilio Rojas. The track has that classic Hip-Hop sound that I love but the mixdown leaves some things to be desired. It’s not unlistenable by any stretch of the imagination, but the quality certainly isn’t polished. If you wanna check it out for yourself, you’ll have to head on over to DJ Booth for the stream.

Whether you were raised in a gated community or an inner-city ‘hood, it’s tough not to look back with nostalgia on your younger days. Of course, that doesn’t mean you need to view your past through rose-colored glasses. On newly-leaked album cutRemember the Days, making its world premiere in the Booth, MMA takes a page from Back in the Dayemcee Ahmad‘s book, reminiscing about his ghetto childhood without understating the dangers and struggles of life in the ghetto. Kooley High memberFoolery handles production, flipping The Stylistics’ classic You’re a Big Girl Now into a soulful backdrop for the N.C. spitter’s reflections on the distance he’s come from his humble beginnings. Assisting on the guest tip, Booth newcomer Shin B discusses her own climb from the bottom in an ambitious middle 16, and reader fave Emilio Rojas takes us back to his college years in verse three, revisiting his feelings of alienation from his privileged peers. Digging this bass-bumping trip down Memory Lane? Then be sure to cop MMA’s latest album, Everlasting Life, when it drops on December 28.

The Rap Remix Round-Up – 11/30/11

Nah, this ain’t a Youtube round-up, as a number of the tracks you’re about to hear were delivered through various mediums but not limited to the Tube. So instead we have just a collection of tracks that have dropped in the recent – all Rap/Hip-Hop remixes of songs both old and new across various genres. So here they are in no particular order:

  • Misfit – “So Crooked” (a remix of “Bonfire” by Childish Gambino)
