Traphik Working on MV for “Fly Young Gentleman” with Todd Angkasuwan

Early last Spring, Traphik & Dyme-A-Duzin dropped a collabo song called “Fly Young Gentleman”. Now the artist has tweeted that he is working on a music video for the single, and it is directed by fellow Thai-American Todd Angkasuwan. This should turn out to be a strong release as Todd has had years of experience working on some high profile videos in and outside the music world. Can’t wait to see the outcome.

WTF: Chan – Lonely Road

Waddup world. It’s another Weekly Thursday Freebie and this time we’re bringing you a classic Chan track… arguably his most famous – Lonely Road. The video was shot by Todd Angkasuwan and the track produced by illmind so you know everything came together nicely. If this isn’t Asian American collaboration at it’s best then I dunno what is. Also look for the cameo in the video from Miss Info.

No matter what your opinion may be on Chan’s move to the Korean industry, you gotta give him his props for this one.

Feelin it? You can grab it, as always, after the jump.

ISA 2009: SF Recap by channelAPA

ISA 2009 San Francisco went down this past weekend and it once again reminds me I’m an unlucky bastard that needs to move to the west coast. I wish I could provide you with a recap myself but alas, channelAPA’s post will have to do.

As a bonus, check their post on the collaborative music video between Far East Movement x Wong Fu Productions x Jin x Todd Angkasuwan for the single “Millionaire“. That is one mega project in the making.

News Quickies 2-12-09 Edition

Tired & lazy from work. Oh well… here’s whats going on in the YPM world.

The Vox Merger releases new MV

Asian American MC akim and his group vox merger (akim, mighty ro young)  just released a new MV for their single “Reasons” featuring bamm and rexx banner. I was actually introduced to vox merger’s music by akim himself. It’s good classic hip-hop. Plus it’s always good to see a multi-cultural group.

The video has pretty great production values for an indie piece and overall the song is good stuff.
Only part that wasn’t completely up to par was rexx banner on the hook. He got a bit repetitive.

Still, a recommended listen/view.

-edit-
Didn’t realize but the video is apparently done by Todd Angkasuwan. Always good to see new work from him.
