See the “Mother’s Day” MV by Alexander Jung

Last month, the rapper formerly known as Aero-K released an album called the Bedroom Project under his name, Alexander Jung. The project featured the previously released single, “DRMR”, and contains features from Lyricks, Misfit, Braille and others. One of the songs on the album is “Mother’s Day”, for which the music video was released yesterday to coincide with the holiday. But this isn’t some happy, lovey-dovey tune; it’s actually a dark and hauntingly honest dissection of Jung’s experiences with the matriarchal figures in his life.

Alexander Jung Releases “Power (9000)” Single & MV

As Alexander Jung’s (formerly Aero-K) Bedroom Project release approaches, we’re beginning to see more and more releases from the artist. “Power (9000)” is his latest, and he’s even got a MV to promote the song that was heavily based off of Kanye’s “POWER” – so much so that it’s a borderline remix. They went with the projector overlay in this video, similar to “Decipher That“, but with more camera work. It’s a freebie for DL, so you can check it out via the Bandcamp widget below. Alexander Jung (Aero-K) Collabs with Lyricks and MC Misfit on “DRMR”

Happy President’s day everyone! Hopefully you had today off, but if not, maybe some new music will help move it along. Alexander Jung (formerly known as Aero-K) has a new track out, a collaboration with Lyricks and MC Misfit called “DRMR”. The song is the lead single off Alex’s upcoming debut solo LP - Bedroom Project. Jung isn’t quite as polished as his counterparts, and their addition to the song really help by given it some added firepower. You can DL the track from his bandcamp.

Aero-K Releases the Kiddies Mixtape

Aero-K of the Troubadours has a new mixtape out simple titled Kiddies where he remixes a pretty wide variation of songs – from Jay-Z to Flying Lotus to Kreayshawn to KPOP’s SNSD. As you can imagine, it’s kind of a mixed bag of tracks where Aero experiments with different sounds, styles, and concepts. It’s a little hit or miss but as a free DL you can’t complain too much. Get it via bandcamp below.

The Freshmen: Carnivo – “20 Dollars” MV

I’m thinking that the time is ripe for a new Freshmen feature, where we spotlight artists who haven’t quite developed a following yet, and are still working on establishing themselves. Remember it’s important that you, the readers, vote either thumbs up or thumbs down on these posts because this will help us decide which of these artists can graduate from The Freshmen and be a part of the regular rotation of a-Tunes Music News.

This time around we have a new music video by Southern California rapper Carnivo, a member of the Troubadours along with crew member Aero-K (who directed the video). The visuals are for his lead single “20 Dollars” off his album Not So Lucky, released earlier this year. Carnivo has a style that reminds me a little bit of what a mixture of Dumb & Geo might sound like. C definitely stays busy behind the mic and shows promise but ultimately it’s up to you all as to whether or not you’d like to see more of him on a-Tunes.

So exercise your democratic rights and let us know if you want more Carnivo on the site by voting thumbs up. If “20 Dollars” is more than enough, then hit the thumbs down.

Aero-K x Kay Lim Release the MV for “Run Away Train” [Free DL]

Aero-K of the Troubadours has a new single out called “Run Away Train” featuring Kay Lim & Lucia Kang. Not only that but he’s dropped a full MV to accompany it that’s more story oriented that most releases now a days. Overall this is one of those cases where the song is stronger than the MV. While I enjoyed the track for it’s sound and content, the video shows it’s home-made qualities a little too much. It’s a fair attempt but in terms of production values, it’s lacking compared to the other indie videos that have been dropping recently. This is the lead single off his Bedroom Project. You can get the song for free via the widget below.

Aero-K Shares the “Finer Things in Life” (prod by Sam Ock) [Free DL]

Jazsapiens representatives Aero-K has a new track out produced by Maryland’s Sam Ock. The song is titled “Finer Things in Life”. The cross continent collabo has a signature S. Ock sound and quirky but enjoyable raps from Aero though I could have done without the weird hook. It’s an alright listen though not something I’d keep on repeat. You can DL the track for free via the widget below.

Aero-K x Furis Release “I Love K-Town” [Free DL]

LA’s Aero-K teams up with fellow city of angels MC, Furis in a new track dedicated to their neighborhood, K-Town. The song is appropriately titled “I Love K-Town”. For this number they used one of my favorite Blue Scholars beats. The song is fun but doesn’t have the same charm as the original. Also, if I lived in K-Town LA and cought all the references I’m sure I would appreciate the song more. Either way, you can check it out and DL it for free via the bandcamp widget below.
