There are few guarantees in life, but it’s almost a sure notion that we won’t ever go too long without a showing from AM Kidd. Perpetuating his string of ‘key-hop’ style of rap, he takes to the keys once again on “If You Need Me”. Although the style is instantly recognizable as his signature, it wouldn’t hurt if he were to try a few different things once in a while (like his collab with his Pops.) If you’d like to follow along with the lyrics, check after the video.

AM Kidd Performs 2AM with AM Dadd
Would you be surprised if I told you AM Kidd posted up a video of him rapping over an guitar track instead of a keyboard? No, he didn’t decided to pick up a six string, rather the Kidd reeled in his Father for a little electric guitar work, complete with a dope solo at the end. I guess music really does run in his blood. Even though we heard this song a couple months back already, this new rendition keep it fresh.
AM Kidd Brings Back the “Yadada”
Back in 2010, AM Kidd shared a performance of a song called “Yadada”. The other night, he brought it back in a newly updated in-studio performance clip. It’s largely the same piano-driven Rap track, but with a fresh coat of paint on the visual and audio tips. This one falls middle of the pack in terms of AM Kidd releases, though it’s prob best appreciated in the quiet hours of the night, which is why we’re sharing it with you on this late hour.
AM Kidd Drops Video for “Never Getting Married”
Over time, AM Kidd has proven to have quite the predilection for songs dealing with love and relationships – and the trend is propagated with his latest video of the song “Never Getting Married”. Once again, we’re given a piano driven track with some percussion with AM Kidd doing his trademark song & rap routine. A bit Drake-ish, yes, but he pulls it off well enough.
Worst Ever: Clapz Shizzayne Steals Lyrics from AM Kidd
[Update 3/29] It seems as if both parties have discussed the matter. Credit has been given where credit is due. Check the end of the post for AM Kidd’s tweets regarding the matter
Take a listen to the following song/MV by UK artist, Clapz Shizzayne. Go ahead, watch the clip, listen to the lyrics. It seems like your average, independent R&B Hip-Hop song, right?
Well, if you’re an AM Kidd fan, you may find yourself doing a double take since the lyrics should seem vaguely familiar. That’s because they were lifted word for word from AM’s 2009 song, “I Can Be”. Everything was taken from AM without so much a credit, shoutout, or mention. Clapz took the lyrics, recited them over another beat, and called it a day. Below is AM’s original version.
AM Kidd Presents Performance of “2AM”
Piano-Hop extraordinaire, AM Kidd posted up a performance clip of a new track – “2AM”. Although he’s done a number of these piano-driven rap songs before, this one stood out to me with it’s sweeping buildup of the melody and quiet reprise. This one had a little more heart in it, and I can dig that. It’d still be nice to see the Kidd tackle a new style, though, even if just for kicks.
AM Kidd Performs “Never Had”
Ready for some new AM Kidd? The genre bending Hip-Hop artist returns to his Piano driven brand of rap with a performance of “Never Had”. While I can appreciate his constant musical exploration of matters of the heart, I wouldn’t be opposed to him switching it up a little bit and venture outside the realm of relationships.
New Unplugged Performances of “Baddest” and “Acappella” by AM Kidd
AM Kidd continues his brand of instrumental driven Hip-Hop with another unplugged performance with the help of JG. He mashes up two of his songs, “Baddest” and “Acappella” – both from his album, Eleven, that dropped in the 2nd half of last year. Although I can appreciate his numerous performance clips, it’d be dope to see how he fares on a larger, live stage. Perhaps, in time.
AM Kidd x Viddy V Drop a Video for “Ready for Me”
Similar to his last video, AM Kidd drops a “performance” MV done with a handheld and set to the tune of his song “Ready For Me” from his older album, Gotta Love Me. Viddy V provides the supporting vocals and the two artists definitely make a good team. It’s kind of a shame they didn’t dedicate more time to the visuals since this is a dope track and deserves more than the quicky treatment.
AM Kidd x JeffLum x ETC x Jbizz Present Visuals for “Free the Past”
If you’ve been jamming to AM Kidd‘s November release, Eleven, then you should be familiar with his song “Free the Past”. Well, the artist got some of his friends together for a quick faux-MV, which is basically home footage of the artists singing and rapping along with the track. There’s not a whole lot to see, but it’s a good excuse to chill out to a relaxing hip-hop joint.
