AMP x Mickey Cho Release the “Blessed” MV
It’s only been a couple days since they released the track but AMP & Mickey Cho have also dropped the official MV for their collaborative song “Blessed”. The video is clean and a fun match to the song though it’s more of a compilation of behind the scenes footage than an actual proper video. Can’t complain too much though cause it’s still an enjoyable watch. It’s still a free DL and lyrics are available after the break.

It may be early Saturday morning but this ain’t too bad of a way to start off your day. AMP & Mickey Cho have teamed up again on this new track entitled “Blessed” – appropriate for this season of Thanksgiving. The four artists all trade raps over a bossa nova infused track for a somewhat refreshing sound – they even mix in a little Spanish here and there. AMP x Gowe x Mickey Cho Release the “Inspired” MV
It’s only been a few days since the single dropped, but AMP has released the official MV for their collab with Gowe & Mickey Cho – “Inspired” (shot on location at Inspire Cali 2011). Clean, sharp video combined with some candid footage make for a fun video though still in the lane of your standard single-cam affair. Mickey kills his verse though, where did this Sam Ock doppelganger come from? The dude can flow!
AMP Debuts “Inspired” featuring Gowe x Mickey Cho
In a cross-country collaboration, AMP has dropped a new track featuring Gowe & Mickey Cho in a song appropriately titled “Inspired”. The song was recorded during the recent Inspire Cali 2011 event when everyone was able to come together and record this track. The 5 artists all take turns on a classic, soul-inspired beat and best of all… it’s a free DL. Well, sort of – it’ll cost you a tweet or facebook post. Inspire Cali 2011 – October 22nd, Torrance CA
After kicking off the year with an incredible event in the East Coast, Inspire is returning back to their SoCal roots for a new show on October 22nd in Torrance, California. The faith inspired concert features talent from all over the country including AMP, Gowe, Jason Min, The Lawft, Mickey Cho, Descry (of the Nehemiah Band) and more! SoCal folk, I highly encourage you check this one out. This is music for the ears, heart and soul. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
AMP Delivers “Your Word”
AMP (Sam Ock, J. Han, and CL) may have been a little on the quiet side as of late, but they officially dropped their first new material for 2011 today, a song entitled “Your Word”. This is the lead single off their upcoming album and sophomore effort after last year’s self-titled debut. The song is available now on iTunes & Amazon for under a buck so be sure to support the group and be on the lookout for the full album later this year.

Sam Ock x J. Han of AMP Spit An Acapella Remix of “Hello Hummingbird”
This is a pretty cool clip of a completely acapella remix, complete with beatbox, of the song “Hello Hummingbird” by AMP that Sam first shared back in 2009. It’s a great rendition with a minor stumble here and there as they perform for what looks to be a class or workshop of some type. Seeing this makes me wonder what an unplugged version with maybe a cajon might sound like.

It’s been a long time since our last Spotlight but we’re finally back with some more interviews! Back at the top of 2011, we were honored to be a part of a little event called Inspire – here on the East coast for the first time ever. This is long, long overdue but we wanted to be sure to share the pre-show interviews we had with the artists – Tim Be Told, Lyricks, AMP, Jason Min, Sarah Kim, Saving Thomas, and Jae Jin. You maybe seen some of our past spotlight features on a couple of these artists, but the following clips provide a specific glimpse and context of the heart of these musicians before the event. Rooftop Pursuit Show and Interview w/ Sulu DC
Check out this new interview of Rooftop Pursuit with Sulu DC during preparation for their upcoming show this weekend. Rooftop used to go under the term the “Phil Good Band” but are in the process of stamping out a name for themselves with an upcoming MV & EP release. The interview discusses their history a little more, along with what we can expect from their upcoming projects. They even touch upon the topics of ethnicity and culture. It’s a good interview and precursor to their big event on Saturday.

It’s our honor here at a-Tunes to share with you Inspire 2011, set for January 22nd at KUMC GW in Northern Virginia. I’m sure many of you don’t know what Inspire is, well let me share with you their mission statement.
