Derez Brown is following up his lead song off the Derezolution project (“Turn Around, released just a few days ago”), with this street single – “Bout That”. The MV has some tough guy role play in there as Derez goes for a more rugged approach. The album release is still a bit of a ways off, with it scheduled for November 23rd.

The “Turn Around” MV has finally had it’s premiere. The Derez x Marnie Brown track will be off the Derezolution album, with a late 2012 release date of November 23rd (talk about early planning). Mr. Brown went for more of a dramatic, cinematic flair – a good decision despite the middling picture quality. “Turn Around” is a free DL, here.

Around the latter half of April, Derez shared a song called “Turn Around” featuring Marnie Brown. We were fans of the track then, and it looks like we’ll have the opportunity to see the visual from the Arizona MC in just a few days time. Set aside a few minutes for Monday of next week, the 21st, which is when the video is currently slated to drop. Catch the teaser trailer below.
Derez Features for J.Rob on “Neva Gave a F*ck”
The Copper State’s Derez has a guest spot on a Hip-Hop joint by J.Rob called “Neva Gave a Fuck”. The music video is straight forward, curiously set in a Laundromat, while the song features some hard hitting production (love those drums!) by DJ Invasion & Mr. Hype. In my opinion, the audio is a lot more polished than the video.

The artist formerly known as City Boy, Arizona’s Derez, finally gives us some new material – a collab track with Marnie Brown on the hook called “Turn Around”. A video is in the works too for this radio-friendly Hip-Hop/R&B track produced by V.T.Z. Derez spits with a tenacity we haven’t heard in a while – hopefully the visual will live up to the same level of energy.

At first we were considering putting together a Showdown for “Boyfriend” by the Beebz (since it’s been a while), but after looking at all the covers we’ve compiled we realized it’s just not feasible. Artists seem to love J Beezy just as much as the rest of his fans because we have 9 covers of a month old song – and I’m sure we missed a few along the way. The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 3/6/12
If there’s one thing rappers love to do, it’s dropping remixes. Now, everyone is taking the extra step to differentiate themselves by putting together full music videos for their remixes, but the easy way out is to throw some cover art or an image over the track and post it to Youtube. That’s exactly what’s been done here. All the songs are pre-recorded, studio-esque quality songs, most available as a free DL, but there is hardly a visual to match – effectively turning Youtube into a new school jukebox. At least Jin took it a half step further and threw some lyrics up on one of his videos! (To be fair, I prefer this over the webcam rap videos…)

If you are Asian-American or have a fair amount Asian-American friends, you may have noticed that NBA’s latest feel-good story, Jeremy Lin, has been a huge hot topic as of late. He’s become a starter for the NY Knicks and has had some great games for several consecutive nights.
Well, the rising basketball star has certainly inspired a lot of people, including some of our artists. Already we’re beginning to see songs about Mr. Lin and we suspect it isn’t over yet. So this post will serve as a running collection of the songs, in reverse chronological order of release (Newest at the top). So far it’s Gowe and Jin, but I’m sure there”ll be more to follow!

Derez Debuts MV Trailer for “Bout That”
The artist formerly known as City Boy, Derez, has a new video on the way for a track called “Bout That”. Looks like they are going for a full scale production, with actors, plot and the works. Can he and his video team (Bare Vision) pull this one off? Only time will tell but we’ll be sure to share the final video once it drops!
