The “I Won’t Give Up” Youtube Cover Round-Up – 1/19/12

Normally we’d hold a showdown when so many artists cover the same song, but everyone involved this time around has been in the ring many times before, so we figured we’d hold off for this one. The song of the hour seems to be “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz, and I can understand why – it’s a heartfelt tune from a beloved artist who hasn’t had new material in a while. So, the question is how do some of our artists compare? I’ll let you form your own opinion but my favorite of the bunch is easily Clara’s rendition. Switching from guitar to piano was a brilliant move.

Just ‘Cause: The Jubilee Project Presents “Be the Change”

The great folks at the Jubilee Project always tends to put together great videos, focusing on amazing themes and causes. Their latest project puts some of our favorite artists and Youtube stars on the spot, asking them what is important to them and what they would like to see change and happen in this world. There is a ton of talent in this clip, and it encourages you to join the conversation – perhaps in the hope that once we talk about it, we just might be able to take the next step and do something about it.

For the new year, The Jubilee Project took some time to interview some YT friends about the changes that they would like to see in the world. We really believe that life is a gift and ordinary people can do extraordinary things. We hope that this video encourages you to live life to the fullest this year and be the change you want to see in the world.

Twitter us @jubileeproject with your responses #BetheChange – What is one thing you’d like to see changed in the world? What is one organization/cause you feel strongly about? What would you do if you had one last day to live?

Special thanks to BU CSA Takeout and all of the YT stars that took part in this video.

Whether or not you’ve read it, I imagine most of you have heard of the teen publication, Seventeen Magazine. Well their division in Malaysia recently chatted with Youtube darling, Clara C, while she was touring Asia late last year. Considering their audience, they keep the question topics pretty light, but it’s a short and bubbly interview and an overall fun viewing.

Clara C’s “Til We Go” Featured on MTV’s Chelsea Settles

Now before today I’ve never heard nor seen the MTV show Chelsea Settles. Even now, I still have no clue what it’s about. Chalk it up to inheriting my Chinese father’s frugal ways but I live a life sans cable TV. But I’m still quite happy to report that a couple nights ago, the show featured the song “Til We Go” by Clara Chung off her The Art in My Heart album from last year. Yep, this is the same song that was featured in a European telcom ad not too long ago! Slowly but surely, you won’t be able to escape Clara’s music – and we’re more than OK with that.

Clara C Talks Education, Her Fans, and Future Music with AllKPop

If you’re a Clara C fan you should check out this interview she recently had with AllKPop. The pace is fairly quick and the topics are varied so it’s a good general viewing. It was filmed towards the end of her US tour that wrapped up this past Fall. It’s cool to see her show love to her K-Pop oriented fans as well since they’ve been hugely supportive too.

Just ‘Cause: UPenn Acapella Group PennSori Performs “Offbeat” by Clara C

You know you’re doing something right when a college acapella group decides to cover your music. And that is exactly the situation Clara C has found herself in with the following footage. The University of Pennsylvania’s PennSori, recently performed the infectious “Offbeat” by Ms Chung at their recent Fall Concert. The execution wasn’t immaculate but it was charming in it’s own right. Besides, if Clara has seen this, I’m sure she’s nothing but thrilled.

Passport: Clara C Music Featured in A1 Telekom Ad in Europe

Check out this awesome ad for Austrian telecommunications company A1 Telekom. No, I don’t like it because of the services being advertised, I could care less about international consumer communications – but rather I find it noteworthy because it features a song by Clara C – “Til We Go” off her The Art in My Heart album from last year. It’s official, she’s gone international folks! Congrats to Clara on her continued success.
