This one’s a little bit trippy. D-Pryde drops a visual for “Kicking Infants”, presumably off the Flagship release in June. The young MC from Canada takes a bit of a zanier approach… think Prizzy mixed with Songs to Wear Pants to. Actually, I’m not even sure if that’s bizarre enough of a comparison. Kitty cats, sharks, and rainbows. That’s what you’ll remember from watching this. Personally, I’m glad the kid knows not to take things too seriously.

D-Pryde Releases a ‘Flagship’ PSA
D-Pryde‘s Flagship project will be dropping on June 3rd, and the following “PSA” was released to build a little buzz for it. It’s a little bit bizarre and perhaps even a little bit kinky… I guess the kid Prizzy is growing up, huh? The release will be available on Datpiff by Mars Music Group – so just sit tight for a couple weeks.

D-Pryde Shares an Acoustic Performance of “Bottom Dollar”
The kid, D-Pryde, will be switching gears and preparing a new single in the form of “Bottom Dollar” (from his upcoming Flagship project, of which he shared the following acoustic rendition, accompanied by a ukelele. He chooses to flex his voice a little more, opting to sing most of the song with only a singular rap verse. Apparently, a music video for the studio version will be out soon, directed by his partner in visuals, Rik Cordero. He also shares how he and his team is addressing the unfortunate unauthorized leak of the song by parlaying it into a little contest.
Bottom Dollar music video + studio version coming soon! Directed by Rik Cordero and produced by Den-Z with DJ Linobo.
D-Pryde Debuts MV for “Start Again” (Dir. by Rik Cordero)
D-Pryde & Rik Cordero are proving to be a formidable 1-2 punch in the Audio/Visual department. Their latest collaborative work is the music video for “”Start Again” – a cut from D’s upcoming mixtape, Flagship (due in June). Cordero continues with his simplistic but polished brand of direction to effectively emphasize the positive and uplifting tone of the track. I gotta say, Prizzy continues to impress me with his growth as an artist.
Here it is, the music video a lot of you have been waiting for. Rik and I had a very simple vision for the video; I hope you hear the message.
We all have our struggles, but remember that there are others in the world that share them too. If we just believe in better days we can all inspire each other. Be thankful for what you have instead of what you don’t. This is for everyone who has experienced a bad day. At the end of all the negativity you can go to bed, wake up the next moment, and Start Again.
My new mixtape “Flagship” will be out June 3rd 2012. A new start, with new music and a new message. Watch out.
Enjoy.
- D-Pryde
PS. This video was directed by Rik Cordero. Big thanks to him for providing the visual for what is my most important song. He believes in me so much and I’m so thankful to have him part of the team. Thank you Rik.
D-PRYDE FLAGSHIP MIXTAPE COMING OUT JUNE 3RD
“Bow Down” MV Featuring D-Pryde Released by Boogz Boogetz
In December, we shared “Bow Down”, a Boogz Boogetz joint that Prizzy jumped on for Boogz’ mixtape, Flyer Learning. Today, we have the official music video for the collaboration – complete with some footage from 80′s martial arts flick, Bloodsport. I still remain a bit indifferent to the song, didn’t particularly move me in either direction.
Showdown:J-Ricz x Sizzle vs D-Pryde & Friends vs J-Reyez x Tommy C & Friends
It’s time for a Showdown, where we have a little friendly comparison of artists that cover/remix the same songs and then vote for the one we think pulled it off better.
Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa’s “Young, Wild & Free” (featuring Bruno Mars) has been a pretty popular song on the radio the past few months – and it’s easy to see why with it’s catchy melody, easy hook and laid back raps. So we can’t say we’re too surprised to see a few remixes up on Youtube – making the song perfect candidate for our Showdown feature. What makes these remix/covers particularly interesting is that due to the nature of Youtube and copyright/licensing issues, each of the artists had the beat re-created to avoid being flagged on the flagship video streaming site; adding just an extra dashs of creativity and helping to keep each version distinct from the other.
J-Ricz x Sizzle
D-Pryde x Boogz Boogetz x Peter Kirk
J. Reyez x Tommy C x Tycoon x Hangman
So which group of artists had your flavor du jour? J-Ricz & Sizzle? D-Pryde & company? J. Reyez, Tommy C, and all the extra cameos? Don’t forget, you have so much power in your hands right now. Your vote will determine…. well, it only really determines who has the highest number of votes with no true qualitative value, but who cares! That’s what being Young, Wild & Free is all about right? Voting in a meaningless poll? Hello?… You still there?
D-Pryde Featured in XXL (February/March)

D-Pryde has found himself gracing the pages of the national Hip-Hop magazine publication, XXL. But this time, the young MC has been given the upgrade treatment, where he’s progressed from the short blurb of last time to a small article in Show & Prove. He posted the above image on various social networks with the following statement:
From being in a tiny section of “The Break”, to having my own article for the “Show & Prove” section in XXL Magazine. Progression will always be key. Thank you to everybody who has lifted me up to here, even the people who’ve never believed. I don’t live in forgiveness but I live in acceptance.
I’m here because of my talent of course, and I do care about myself. But at the end of the day my people, my fans, and my family brought me here and I’ll never lose way of that…This means more to me than you think. It’s not the end though.
I might not have much money to spend around but I have a pack of misunderstood kids I call fans, my family, my team, and my girl. S’all I need.
Thank you…I’m way too happy right now.
Posted in front of SONNY’S! I’m so Brampton it’s a DAMN SHAME!

Wow, we are 15 days into the new year already. Well, as I promised last time, this round-up is all things strictly rap. I don’t believe any of the featured videos in this collection are newcomers but there’s a surprise or two in the bunch, just make sure to check em all out. There’s enough Hip-Hop bars here for everyone to enjoy.
