SUNZOO Releases 2nd Version of “Get Down” MV
SUNZOO must have thought that one MV wasn’t enough for their single “Get Down”. The first dropped a couple months back, directed by Rik Cordero. The new version goes in a completely different direction with a combination of live footage, green screen work, and kinetic typography. It’s a dope song with two pretty dope videos, I guess the only question is which one do you like more?
WTF: Drunken Tiger – The Legend Of …
Today, on a very special Weekly Thursday Freebie…

Recent events have led me to be nostalgic for the glory days of Drunken Tiger. Their third album, ‘The Legend Of…’, released in 2001 marked a new era for the group as they suddenly found themselves accepted widely by mainstream Korea. This album also heavily featured collaborations between other Asian American artists such as DJ James Jhig, Micki Eyes and Roscoe Umali (who handled much of the production) along with continued work with Bobby Kim and Tasha.
This album still remains one of my favorites to this day. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
Track list and link after the break.
Lookin’ Back: Drunken Tiger interview from 1999
Here is an old interview featuring Tiger JK, DJ Shine, and James Jhig (collectively known as Drunken Tiger) courtesy of ARW.
I just wished they would stop saying “you know what i’m sayin” so often haha.
Lookin’ Back: 2000 m.net Music Festival
This is a rare performance from 2000 featuring:
DJ James Jhig, DJ Wreckx, Gorilla Crew, Joosuc, Digiri of Honey Family, Gaeko of CB Mass/Dynamic Duo, Tiger JK of Drunken Tiger, L.E.O of IIMC/Ill Skillz, Hur In Chang of X-Teen, Hoony Hoon, Uhm Jung Hwa, Yoon Hee Jung 3534, Typhoon, Lee Ha Neul, and Day-One
To my knowledge there has been no other performance like this since. Never again has so many korean hip-hop artists from different labels and affiliations come together to perform live. This was during a time when Hip-Hop was still relatively young.
Also, it’s inteteresting to see how under appreciated the genre was. No one in the audience was having fun except for As One. Also Uhm Jung Hwa was kind of pointless but oh well, she did no harm.
