Fans of the part Vietnamese rapper, Tyga, may be happy to see that the Cash Money artist has released the music video for his song “Still Got It”, featuring the one and only Drake. In my opinion, this song is LEVELS above his other songs like “Rack City”, so I’m happy to see this track get a promotional push along with the nods to the days of yesteryear. Not a bad watch, at all.

The Covers by Duets Youtube Round-Up 5/17/12
Two can play at that game? What game? I dunno, I just wanted to introduce the concept of two. Deuce. Double. 1+1. Snake Eyes. Duets. Because that’s what we’ve rounded-up for you today. This is all about about two musical artists covering songs both new and old and giving you two subjects to see and hear. This would have been more appropriate for a “Twos”day…. OK, sorry about that. Enjoy!
Paul Kim x Jennifer Chung Cover “Take Care” by Drake x Rihanna
Jason Chen x Cathy Nguyen Cover “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction
Melissa Polinar x Tim Halperin Cover “Not Over You” by Gavin Degraw

The Solo Rap Cyphers Youtube Round-Up – 5/11/12
I’ll keep this one short and to the point. Rap. Remixes. Cyphers. The production values are low, and these are one-off verses over other people’s beats, many of which you should recognize if you’re a Rap fan. These are simple and to the point… or maybe even lazy in some cases, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Alexander Spit Remixes “ADHD” by Kendrick Lamar
Hopie Remixes “Shot Caller” by French Montana
Traphik Remixes the Pokemon Theme Song
The In-Studio Covers Youtube Round-Up – 4/26/12
Thursday feels about right for another round-up, what do you think? We’ve put together a collection of in-studio performance videos where the artists chose to stay in the comfort of their creative environments. R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, and everything in between all have representation in this mix. With 10 videos, I’m positive you’ll find something to enjoy, if not all.
A couple notes:
- Sam Tsui kills it again.
- I still can’t believe that new Brian McKnight song actually happened
- I prefer Gabe’s version of “Strip” to the original
- Erika’s cover/flip is on point

The Cover MVs Youtube Round-Up – 4/23/12
The first round-up for the last full week of April is a collection of cover music videos. The bread and butter of most Youtube artists are their cover videos, and sometimes they go the extra mile and put together a music video set to the tune/instrumental written by another. This particular batch of videos happen to be mostly of the R&B and Hip-Hop variety, but a couple of Pop records found their way into the mix too.
Jennifer Chung x New Heights Cover “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele
Lil Crazed x Traphik x Auburn Remix “Sleazy” by Ke$ha
Baiyu Covers “Roc Me Out” by Rihanna
Jasmine V x JDrew Cover “Crew Love” by Drake x The Weeknd
The Performance Covers Youtube Round-Up – 3/29/12
It’s early Thursday here on the East, but it seemed just as good a time as any for another round-up batch. Today’s common denominator is that all of these videos are performance clips. Now that does’t necessarily mean each of these was shot in front of an audience, although some were; rather it simply means there is no lip-sync involved. The audios are comprised of a single take, though some of the the video footage is via multi-camera set-ups. That being said, you have an assortment of performance stages ranging from a bedroom to a full-scale live audience. Just for good measure, we’ve thrown in a clip that blew us away from a Korean singing competition. Check it out at the end, you won’t regret it!
Ailee Covers “The Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston
Clara C x Jayesslee Cover “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder
Cathy Nguyen x DANakaDAN & Friends Cover “Unthinkable” by Alicia Keys
The Cover Music Videos Youtube Round-Up – 3/27/12
Music Video Tuesday! Ok, that’s not a real thing, but that’s our theme of today’s round-up of Youtube video covers. Admittedly, the last video isn’t exactly a music video so much as it is a gigantic mash-up of footage. But when you’re dealing with 50 different artists and trying to work all those clips together, we figure it’s just as much work as any other MV production, so we’ve gone ahead and included it too. Enjoy!
DANakaDAN x Cathy Nguyen x Kevin Lien Cover “Take Care” by Drake xRihanna
Sam Tsui x Kurt Schneider Cover “We Are Young” by fun
Rooftop Pursuit Covers “Part of Me” by Katy Perry
The Hip-Hop & R&B Youtube Remix MV Round-Up – 3/12/12
Happy Monday everyone! To start off your week on a fun note, we’ve put together a round-up of some Hip-Hop & R&B music video covers by some of your favorite Youtube stars. If you find yourself typically tuned into your urban radio stations, this collection should be right up your alley. I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll enjoy, if not all of em!
Jennifer Chung x Decipher Remix “Only Wanna Give It to You” by Elle Varner x J. Cole
The Fung Brothers x Jason Chen Remix “Young, Wild & Free” by Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg; “Niggas in Paris” by Jay-Z x Kanye

Arden Cho Covers “We Found Love” by Rihanna x Calvin Harris
The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 3/6/12
If there’s one thing rappers love to do, it’s dropping remixes. Now, everyone is taking the extra step to differentiate themselves by putting together full music videos for their remixes, but the easy way out is to throw some cover art or an image over the track and post it to Youtube. That’s exactly what’s been done here. All the songs are pre-recorded, studio-esque quality songs, most available as a free DL, but there is hardly a visual to match – effectively turning Youtube into a new school jukebox. At least Jin took it a half step further and threw some lyrics up on one of his videos! (To be fair, I prefer this over the webcam rap videos…)
