Well this was a long time comin’! Kero One just dropped the music video to a single off his 2010 album, Kinetic World. “Fast Life” is collaborative joint with Esna (who now spends her days as a singer/writer in Korea) – a favorite musical companion of Kero’s. Though this song ain’t exactly brand new, the great blend of animation and footage make for a visually appealing MV.

Welcome to another remix/round-up! This time around, we are revisiting an international theme with all of the songs either remixes/covers/translations of Asian songs, or in one particular case, an English song sung in Chinese. It’s a pretty big melting pot of culture and languages – but that’s fairly representative of the world we live in. Go ahead and take a gander, I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy in this collection!

Snapshot: Lyricks x Dumbfoundead x Esna Yoon x Manifest x Zo x Lyraflip x JL
I’m honestly not sure when or where this picture was taken, or even how we found it. But my best guess is that this is on set of the music video for “Lava” by JL, L. Scatterbrain, Lyraflip, Lyricks, Manifest, Dumbfoundead and DJ Zo – meaning the photo has to be at least a year and a half to two years old. How’s that for a Snapshot in time? Esna makes an appearance though L.S. is curiously missing… perhaps he’s taking the picture?
Odd to think how much has happened since this photo was taken. Mani & JL have been to Korea and back again (welcome home fellas!), Lyricks has remained a staple in the DMV/East Coast Hip-Hop scene, Dumb & Zo have been conquering the world… and I dunno where Flip & Scatter are right now. They’ve been kind of quiet, fell off our radar a bit. Can’t wait to see what will become of everyone in another two years!
Esna Wants to Be “Together Always”
Where in the world has Esna Yoon been? Well, we knew she was in Korea, but where has her music been? She ends the sonic drought by sharing the following new original entitled “Together Always”. Esna adds some great acoustic soul to the song and mixes things up beautifully by going bi-lingual with the English & Korean lyrics. We’re glad to see the girl back in action and can only hope that this is the start of many more to come!
Kero One Interviews w/ Hyphen Mag

Kero One, who most of you should be familiar with now, has a great new interview out with Hyphen Magazine. They chop it up on everything from his humble start freestyling over the phone, to touring Japan, starting his own label and releasing his latest album Kinetic World along with the single “Asian Kids“. He also talks about some of his greatest influences, how has his sound has changed over the years and even drops some hints about an upcoming album with Esna Yoon. All in all, a great read for any Kero fan. Check it out over at Hypen or after the jump.
Esna Yoon Features on Tim’s 5th Album – New Beginnings
Korean American Tim has made a name for himself over the later half of last decade in the KPOP world, crooning his way into the spotlight. It’s been said that talent recognizes talent and perhaps that’s why two of the tracks on his latest album feature up and coming singer Esna Yoon from LA. She features on track 8 (“닭살 커플”) and track 11 (“He Said, She Said (No Other Way) – which is more or less an english version of the song. We’re thrilled to see Esna link up with a talented and established artist such as Tim. Hopefully this is just another step in her path to the top!
Listen to the songs after the break.
Esna Yoon Shares New Original – “Uneasy”
It’s always good to hear new music from Esna, and today she’s posted up a clip of her singing “Uneasy”. What makes this clip especially interesting to me is that she’s rocking the guitar instead of the piano we usually see in her videos. As a result this song has a bit of folksy vibe to it. There are definitely some rough edges to smooth out here and there but I like the overall sound. I’d be interested to see what this would sound like if it were tracked properly in the studio.
