If you’re in the LA area this Friday, you should go out to the Biergarten to catch a show with an awesome line up. Suejin, Dawen, Furis, Esna, and Flow Ethics will all be there, providing you a great mix of genres and styles. Plus, I’m going to venture out and guess there will be some good beer there too. We posted about an event taking place tomorrow called Rock the Vote focused on promoting voter participation within the Asian-American communities. Dawen & Esna, two of the many talented performers slated to appear decided to put together a little promo video where they cover the beautiful standard “Autumn Leaves”. This isn’t the first time they’ve collab’d but their voices still blend perfectly. You can purchase tickets for the event here.
In just a little over a week’s time, ABDC Season 3′s winners Quest Crew, Satellite, Kollaboration Acoustic 4 Winner Dawen and singer Esna Yoon will all take the stage for the first annual Asian American Pacific Islander Rock the Vote event. It’ll take place in Hollywod on September 17th and aims to encourage and promote voter participation among Asian American/Pacific Islanders. There will be some big ticket guests stopping by as well including Kelly Hu, Lisa Ling, Justin Chon and more. You can find more information at the official Facebook event page.
The good people at HypnoticAsia were in attendance of last week’s Kollaboration Acoustic 4 event, where we reported Dawen took top honors. Back in the Spring, DJ Zo dropped a track entitled “Vacation Song”, featuring Dumb & Esna Yoon. At Manifest’s West Coast Mixtape Release Part last month, Dumb performed the song and gave a little explanation that the lyrics were actually written when he was a youth. He kills it in the live performance and of course DJ Zo makes it all look too easy. This is a great performance to watch on this lazy Friday night.
