The artist formerly known as EyeASage – Rocky Rivera – isn’t letting her partner in life & rhyme (Bambu) out grind her, and is getting ready to release the music video for the single “Trick Habit” off her self titled debut. She’s linked up with Kid Heroes productions and I’m loving the retro style direction they’ve taken with the video. It matches the vibe of the song quite well. It looks like her normal entourage is present in the video as well. Looking forward to seeing the final version!

Rocky Rivera is back with a new remix track entitled “Swag’r Jak’n (Bay Grl Rmx)”. It’s her spin on a track by Balance of the same name (basically). She got another femcee to jump on board, Talia Taylor who I’m not really familiar with. This is one of those tracks where I can appreciate what they are doing but not so much the music. It’s just one of those styles that you don’t hear too often round these parts so it takes some getting used to. Im sure you Bay heads will disagree and think I’m an idiot though haha.

Here is my version of Balance’s song “Swagger Jackin’ “. Balance sent me the instrumental after I heard the Bay Area All Star RMX and told him I HAD to do a Bay GRL RMX and invited fellow Lady MC and newcomer, Talia Taylor to hop on it.

Rocky Rivera aka EyeASage has officially released her self titled album today. It’s available for download via CD Baby and we’re looking into where you can get a physical copy as well.

My album has been nearly two years in the making, and yesterday I was finally able to see it materialized. I’ve been poring over every detail of it sonically, aesthetically, financially, and emotionally and I hope that you feel it when you buy the cd. There’s something different about downloading it off the internet and holding an actual copy in your hand – you can learn all about the people who were involved, get a sense of who I am and feel closer to me as an artist (aww warm squishy feeling).

EyeASage aka Rocky Rivera has released a new song entitled “Feelin’ My Shhh…”. The song is exactly as the title suggests and allows RR to represent and let everyone know why she’s on top of her game right now. It’s a straight forward track but it’s definitely some raw hip-hop. Be on the look out for her album when it drops in early February.

The new single for West Coast artist Bambu has just dropped from his upcoming EP. The track is titled ‘The Queen Is Dead’. I’m loving the production on this track. I’m digging how Bambu chose to spit some social commentary on how society views women. The track also features some guest background vocals from his fiance EyeASage aka Rocky Rivera.

The Queen Is Dead, is the first song leaked from the new EP, …paper cuts… from Los Angeles’ own Bambu. The EP features Chace Infinite (Self Scientific), Geologic (Blue Scholars), Malcolm & Martin, Thurzday (U-N-I) and Diz Gibran, with production by Digital Martyrs, Fatgums, 6Fingers, MTK, Anon and Nick James. …paper cuts… is set for a February 23rd release on the Homegrown Blendz label.

EyeASage aka Rocky Rivery broke it down with C’est La Vie and gave her insight on her various aliases, motherhood, her different grinds and what the future holds in store. It’s a great interview and I definitely recommend you check it out.

What should we expect from the upcoming 2010 New Year from Ms. Krish and/or Rocky Rivera?
The self-titled album drops February 2, 2010, so be on the lookout for a Rocky Rivera tour on the West Coast and Hawaii! Also, I got two more videos in the works, aside from my first, “MRSHMLO”, so you might be able to see “Dr. Rocky” in all her glory . 2010 is year of The Rock!

Everyone loves free music. Whether or not it helps or hurts an artist is an entirely different discussion entirely. But when the artist offers the music up for free, who can argue with that!? For This Week’s Thursday Freebie I’ve gone through our archives and have posted up many of the songs, albums & mixtapes that artists have posted up throughout 2009. Some links take you to file hosting sites, some can be downloaded straight from the link, since I didn’t originally post up the links I have no control over the delivery medium =P.

What’s going on everyone. It’s that time of the week again, another Weekly Thursday Freebie. Do you guys even keep up with these? HAHA

Anyways, it’s another busy week so I wasn’t able to personally provide this one but over the past couple weeks I’ve started to look into EyeASage after hearing/watching her material for ‘MRSHMLO‘. I’ve really started to dig her music and came across a mixtape she released early last year entitled ‘Married to the Hustle’. I haven’t had the chance to listen to it thoroughly yet but I like most of what I’m hearing so far. Def feeling her swag and candid style.
