FM Debuts the Music Video For “Jello”

It’s that new new from FM and Rye Rye. Here is the official music video for their latest single, “Jello”. We’ll share our thoughts once we’ve peeped it ourselves.

[Update] The video is par for the course. A general smorgasbord of goofy antics and debauchery all set to the bass booming tunage. The celebrity look-a-likes remind me of some of Em’s zanier MVs but the cameos are where the real surprises are at. Shout out to Jay Park, I see you at the end there.[/Update]

It’s always a good look when you get a feature on KarmaLoop TV, and that’s exactly the position the fellas of the Far East Movement have found themselves in. It’s a fairly light interview with nothing too terribly serious, but both casual and die-hard FM fans alike should still appreciate this one.

KTV chopped it up with Far East Movement in LA to talk about Kim Kardashian’s assets, their upcoming album Dirty Bass, touring with LMFAO, and what to expect from the group in 2012. Take a look!

Two Cents: GT’s Top 10 Performance Clips from 2011

OK. One week down in 2012, and 51 one left to go! We’re continuing our 2011 countdown series with a recap of my top 10 favorite performance clips from last year. The criteria for this list came down to a mixture factors, including the actual performance, the crowd response, production values, and sheer overall entertainment. The only other restriction was that the clip had to be released in the calendar year of 2011, even if the performance is from earlier. Lastly, click through till the end for a bonus pick that didn’t quite fit in my top 10 but shouldn’t be ignored.

Now, starting with my number 10 pick, we have…

10. April Chase – “All You Need to Say” (article)

Ever since first discovering April Chase a couple years ago, they quickly became one of my favorite Pop/Rock bands. The group encompasses radio friendly hooks with a great rock foundation, wrapped up with Carina Valdes’ sweet but gutsy vocals. The only thing the above clip that is missing, was an audience to appreciate the unplugged rendition of “All You Need to Say” from their EP, Still Breathing. It’s always a blessing when a rock group still sounds just as fun and engaging without the benefit of studio polish.

New Remixes of FM’s “Jello” by Quintino & DJ R3HAB

FM Features for Natalia Kills on “Lights Out”

The Far East Movement have a guest spot on the new Natalia Kills joint, “Lights Out”. The electro-pop tune is a perfect fit for the Free Wired artists, as they bless the track for their Cherrytree label mate from across the pond. It’s a pretty catchy track that has radio-ready written all over it. Hopefully we’ll hear this one on the local airwaves soon.

Allhiphop.com seems to have gotten the jump on a new track by the Far East Movement called “Ride 4 U”. The cut features Kid Cudi doing his signature crooning/rap style along with a guest verse from Chip Tha Ripper. Not sure if this is part of their upcoming album, due in early 2012 but my guess would be yes. This one is a bit slower paced in comparison to their more recent singles, even more so than “Rocketeer” but it makes for a nice switch up. If you want to listen you’re gonna have to make the jump over to AllHipHop.

FM Stops by Taco Restaurant for Surprise Performance of “Jello”

The Far East Movement & VEVO have teamed up for the VEVO Go performance series. They chose to stop by one of their local favorites, Taco House #1 where they performed their new hit single, “Jello”. As always, their stage presence was energetic and they did a great job of utilizing an unexpected performance venue.

Here’s another remix for you to rock out to. Sidney Samson gave the Far East Movement‘s “Jello” a little retooling, bringing the LA Bass track into the realm of House. It’s a fairly significant switch up by the Dutch DJ from the original tune. It’s been real interesting to see these DJs and producers put their own unique touch on the latest FM single.

Far East Movement Shares the Unicorn Kid Remix to “Jello”

FM has posted up an official remix to their latest single, “Jello” ft Rye Rye. The track, originally an LA Bass style of song, was given a fresh coat of aural paint courtesy of Unicorn Kid, who transformed it into more of an electronica-focused number. As expected with this style of music, the vocals take a back seat to the instrumentation and synths. It’s almost a completely different song, but I still dig it.
