Just ‘Cause: Watch Dumbfoundead, Traphik, D-Pryde & Others Spit Some Freestyle
Came across the following clips today of some artists going back to one of the fundamental arts of Hip-Hop – freestyling. Of course both clips feature Dumb because quite frankly, that dude is in a league of his own. Watch him completely kill both sessions, regardless of beat or tempo. He’s joined by Traphik, D-Pryde and others in the 2nd clip where everyone is having fun though I can’t say its the most polished exhibition.
Dumbfoundead Featured on Mic Swagger
I bet the vast majority of you are unfamiliar with Mic Swagger, a Korea web series similar to Tha Basement segment on BET’s Rap City where the host (in this case Sool J) kicks it off with a few bars off the top before allowing the featured artist to come through and do the same. In this case Mic Swagger is obviously cheaply produced with no frills but it’s pretty raw and Dumbfoundead had the opportunity to stop by and make his mark while in Korea this summer.

New Freestyle from Traphik, Dumb, and Wax
To celebrate Traphik aka Timothy De La Ghetto surpassing 400K subscribers, which is a LOT, he set up a camera and freestyled for nearly 10 minutes with Dumbfoundead and Wax. Of course when you free for that long, there are gonna be better moments than others but the sheer fact they had that much material to spit off the top is impressive in itself. Congrats to Traphik on the milestone! It was kinda funny how the beat always died on Wax.
Traphik x Jin Freestyle Session
Check out this goofy freestyle by Traphik and Jin. Traphik was visiting the Plan C offices in LA when Jin surprised him and they spontaneously bust out into a cipher. Even though it was goofy and light hearted, it looks like Jin still has it in him after all these years. That’s a true pioneer. They seemed to have a lot of fun and it was a cool way for the two artists to finally meet.
Check out ChannelAPA for more details and a vlog by Traphik regarding the whole event.
AHHS 2009 ATL Cypher Footage Released
If you all were feeling the cypher from the AHHS event in Charlotte then you’re gonna love this one. Down in the ATL, the Asian Hip-Hop Summit crew shows their hunger on the mic as they grab the opportunity to spit a few bars.
In order of appearance: Maserati, Dumbfoundead, Lyraflip, L. Scatterbrain, Manifest & Al.P after the Asian Hip-Hop Summit ATL.

Jin x James Ha Freestyle Collabo
Veteran + the New School, doin their thing on youtube. James Ha does his body beat box magic as Jin spits off the top. It’s a quick verse but definitely cool to see.
Lookin’ Back: Lyricks vs Lyraflip @ Kollaboration 2K5
With the Asian Hip-Hop Summit tour in full swing and the gathering of Asian-American MC’s from all over I thought it’d be fun to take a look back to over 4 years ago where two prominent figures of today’s Summit battled it out for yesterday’s pride.
Check this oldie battle from the 2005 Kollaboration competition where Lyricks & Lyraflip competed in an old-fashioned freestyle battle. You may know em now, but did you know em back then?
dumbfoundead freestyles in English & Korean
This looks like it was done at the same time as his interview with TALKNISH.
It’s sloppy but pretty impressive. The dude can free in two languages when I can barely think in one.
Worst Ever: Freestyle Battle
ARW seems to always find the craziest videos. This is no different.
Obama! Obama! My Mama like Obama!
Sigh… Given, I know english isn’t the kid’s first language… but this is just ridiculous.
And I love how that asian girl in the back is just chilling. haha
Dumbfoundead’s back, battles Illusion-Z
Although not as bananas as his last battle against Tantrum, this is still a pretty decent watch.
Both MC’s stumble a little bit here and there, and it eventually turned into a giant collection of racist punchlines but I still gotta give them both props.
Check the overtime round after the break.
