As much as we love bumpin Illmind‘s beats, he does far too much work for us to cover all of his production but his latest placement is pretty big as his aural craft is the backing to 50 Cent’s new single, the leaked “Stop Cryin” off his upcoming free mixtape The Big 10. The mixtape is due later this week and whether you’re a Fiddy fan or not, you can’t deny that this is a good look for the veteran beatsmith. Take a listen below.
We shared the international/Korean release of Yoon Mirae/Tasha/T’s “Get It In” featuring her husband Drunken Tiger but the English version is also available. The visuals are all the same but the song features Smokey Robotic this time around as the male vocals. Once again, production was handled in part by Illmind. Lastly, you might like to know that both versions of the track are now available for purchase via iTunes.
We knew that Tasha and her husband Tiger JK aka Drunken Tiger were involved with The Creators Project, only to what extent? Well that has been answered as TCP has released their music video project with the pair for Tasha’s latest single “Get It In”. Production duties for the track were handled by none other than Illmind, their go to man for music in Sunzoo. In the video, Tasha and her husband JK face off in an epic battle to the death. Who comes out the victor? Just check it out for yourself to find out!
In further good news, you can expect an English version of the track that features Smokey Robotic in place of JK. No word if there will be a video for that too but either way, we’ll let you know!
Looks like veteran producer !llmind was given a good look and is the host of the latest in a long line of beat mixtapes – Coast 2 Coast Instrumentals Vol: 30. It’s a whopping 38 track release complete with songs and instrumentals by a lot of artists you probably know, sprinkled with some interludes by the beat-man himself. The tape is available from DatPiff for free stream & download.

Multi-faceted Hip-Hop artist/producer G*LEE spoke with KarmaLoop TV for a quick little interview that covered a range of subjects from her upbringing & early love for music, to her numerous projects in the works including an album with famed producer Illmind. It’s a good look to get that scoop with KarmaLoop, so hopefully this is a sign of many more big things to come from the NY based musician.
We told you it was coming and here it is. The Hip-Hop instrumental album from famed producer Illmind – Behind the Curtain. He’s gone all out for this release, which includes 22 beats + 222 audio stems of his sounds, royalty free. For MC’s and producers alike, this is looking like a must have. It’s currently available from iTunes & Amazon in digital form, with hard copies available in May.
SUNZOO must have thought that one MV wasn’t enough for their single “Get Down”. The first dropped a couple months back, directed by Rik Cordero. The new version goes in a completely different direction with a combination of live footage, green screen work, and kinetic typography. It’s a dope song with two pretty dope videos, I guess the only question is which one do you like more?
Want to hear some Illmind beats and instrumentation? If you wait a month you’ll be able to peep some of his work without any pesky MC’s and vocalists covering the track with the release of Behind the Curtain, an instrumental album due April 29th. This will give everyone an opportunity to hear what he does best, before a rapper has the chance to influence the creative direction. It should be a hot release and I can’t wait to hear what’s on it. Will he explore and expand the genre ala RJD2? Or will it be a more conventional collection of rap beats. Looking forward to finding out!

The always grinding super producer Illmind is back at it again, continuing his Blaps, Rhymes and Life mixtape series with this latest and 5th installment. It’s another gigantic release with two jam-packed discs worth of music – a total of 34 tracks. The artist list reads as a who’s who of Hip-Hop but of greatest importance to us are tracks featuring Hydroponikz and SUNZOO! I’ve been dying to know where I can get a copy of SUNZOO’s “Get Down” and here it is on this mixtape. Gotta love it. Get the entire thing for free here!
