Kato Presents a Q&A Session

With the new SMKA addition, Kato, readying the release of A Kato Production for April 26th, he’s put together a little Q&A interview session to help you get acquainted with him and his work. There’s a mixture of inconsequential questions and more in-depth, comprehensive inquiries. The only thing I’m left wondering is what was the lighting situation like that warranted the shades indoors?

Rocky Rivera Featured as a Hometown Heroine for Vibe.com

Rocky Rivera has always been a representative of the Bay area, and she continues to show love to her stomping grounds as a Hometown Heroine feature on Vibe.com. This is a pretty quick, two minute interview, and there isn’t too much in-depth music talk, but it offers a little bit of location based context behind the artist formerly known as EyeASage. If you’re from the Frisco area, or you’re a fan of the rapper, then you should appreciate this clip.

The teenage heartthrob known as the Biebz was not present to sing the hook but the fellas still rocked the stage with their signature energy. As is customary, they also had a short interview with the hosts, talking about touring and their music. Check out the clip below.

New Dia Frampton Interviews with KoreanBeacon & AKP

Singer and Season 1 Finalist of The Voice, Dia Frampton, has a couple new interviews we’d like to highlight for you. One is a text interview with KoreanBeacon while the other is a video interview by AllKPop. Both are fairly high-level overviews of the artist, keeping things fairly general. They are actually both very similar in content, so if you’re short on time, you may just one to pick one & call it a day.

And here is the AllKPop interview:

MYX TV Goes Behind the Scenes of Michelle Martinez’s “Adrenaline” MV

Michelle Martinez‘s Adrenaline album may be coming up on two years old, but the singer still has singles to promote off the Pop record with the latest being the title track. She looks to be working closely with MYX TV for this one, even shooting part of the video on their set. You can watch their little behind the scenes featurette, where they even got to handle the brand new Canon 5D Mark III. We may not see the final video for some time though, as it’s currently slated for a “Summer 2012″ release.

Though he’s since stepped down from the director position, his vision is still being realized. The Jubilee Project has released a spotlight interview video on PK, interspersed with footage from one of the last shows he hosted – Kollaboration DC 2010. #DreamBig

The Jubilee Project had the opportunity to spotlight an incredible leader in the community, Paul “PK” Kim who began Kollaboration over 10 years ago. Kollaboration has since become a national force that has discovered an incredible number of talented people around the country and empowered young people around the world.

We hope this is an inspiration to #DreamBig!

You’d be wrong if you assumed southern Hip-Hop artist Jackie Chain has slowed down since the release of his After Hours mixtape last month. AHH caught up with Chain for a few minutes at the SXSW festival last week, and he opens up about his new alias of Bruce Lean, the upcoming Bruce Lean Chronicles mixtape, along with the status on his long awaited album, I Ain’t Slept in Weeks.

Jin Akanishi Shares Meaning behind ‘Japonicana’ Title, Working with Keanu, and the Road Life with the Examiner

In a new interview with the Examiner, Japan’s Jin Akanishi discusses all things Japonicana, including the origin behind his US album title, tour experiences, along with future career goals both within and outside the world of music. Unfortunately, the Q&A sessions is a little bit like pulling teeth, with much of Akanishi’s answers remaining vague and askew – although I can’t really blame the guy considering his thoughts have to go through some translation before they are output in English. Lord knows I’m not bi-lingual, so props to the guy for that. Read the article over at the Examiner.

Jay Legaspi Shares About Being MC Encyclopedia Brown, Acapella Groups, Music & More

Although singer/songwriter Jay Legaspi has been very quiet as of late, he’s breaking the silence with a new in-studio web series. The first installment is a short EPK-like introduction to the artist, helping those unfamiliar with the veteran singer become a little more acquainted. Hopefully this means he’ll start to gain some momentum again, and channel it into feeding us more material in 2012.
