It’s another MV from 454′s DVD. The song is “Family Affair”, off the As Real as it Gets album and features IZ, Drew, Nump, Thai and Suryil on the hook again. It’s a pretty catchy track, the MV is just a bunch of scenes of the crew having fun around the dinner table, along with a continuation of the cop motif from previous videos. I like the song itself more than the MV.

454 Releases Debut Album – As Real As It Gets
The indie label 454 Life Entertainment has been busy, very busy, in 2010 and the day has finally come where they’ve dropped their first compilation album – As Real As It Gets. After countless single leaks, MVs, parties and promotions you can now pick up this West Coast collective’s album complete with 19 tracks. It’s available via their website or digital download from iTunes or AmazonMP3.
454 Releases Several MV Trailers
454 Life Ent has got a DVD coming out entitled The Beginning with a ton of music videos on there (12!) for your viewing entertainment. If you’re curious as to what you may get on the DVD you’re in luck because they’ve posted a bunch of trailers for you to get an idea of what’s to come. One thing you can’t hate on is their grind. They clearly stay busy and work hard and their production values are always on point.

IZ Releases the “Paper Chaser” MV
It’s encouraging to see indie artists put out material with higher production values. In that sense, it looks like linking up with 454 was a good move for IZ because this video is definitely not your typical MV, and definitely more extravagant then your average rap visual. That being said, based off the preview I was expecting the whole thing to go in an even more creative direction with a lot more animation sequences but regardless it still came out pretty nice. It’s not so much a revolution of the rap video so much as an evolution of the usual elements but with a pretty new skin.
454 Life Previews Upcoming Album
The fellas from 454 are scheduled to drop their debut album later this month (the 24th) and to whet the appetite for their fans and give them an idea of what to expect, they’ve posted up a preview clip of the tracks. The album is already available for pre-order those those of you who want to be sure to get it asap.
WTF: The Asian Hip Hop Connect Vol. 1 Mixtape
A few weeks back, our friends over at Asian Hip-Hop Times dropped a new mixtape called the Asian Hip Hop Connect Vol.1. It features talent from all over the world including some folks that are frequently featured here at a-Tunes. You can find tracks from Kato, Triangle Offense, Doc Whisper, Virus44, IZ, Jackie Chain, ND, Kenji Astro and more! The quality varies but there are definitely a few gems on here. And since it’s free I recommend you check it our for yourself and keep the track’s you’re feeling!

Thai x IZ Release the “La La La” Remix
454 Life Entertainment representatives Thai & IZ have dropped a new mixtape track; a remix of “La La La”. They chose a pretty decent beat (Auburn x Iyaz) but the song itself isn’t really memorable. The verses felt like throw a ways, written to fill up the track and not really own it. Regardless, it’ll be available on a mixtape they are dropping this weekend, and as a free DL today. You can get it here.
IZ of 454 Reveals MV Teaser for “Paper Chaser”
Of all the 454 videos dropped so far since their debut earlier this year, I’m most excited about this one. They decided to go in a very creative direction complete with animation, set pieces, and retro visual/costume design concepts. The track is called “Paper Chaser” and you can watch the teaser for it below. Hopefully the video can live up to it’s promise!
454 Life Entertainment Announces Album Release Date, Cover & Tracklist for As Real As It Gets
454 Entertainment has officially announced their first compilation album entitled As Real As It Gets featuring Nump Trump, Drew Deezy, Thai and IZ along with producer Traxamillion. You can see the cover for it above. The album will have 19 tracks including all their previously released singles like “Go Hard“, “I Don’t See Nothing Wrong“, “Get Money“, “We International” and “I’mma Be the Best“. There are a lot of features on here too. Look for it to drop in about a month and a half, on August 24th.

454 Releases Performance Footage from Their Release Party
Last weekend 454 Life Entertainment threw a big release party in San Jose and it wouldn’t have been complete without a performance set from the crew. After an introduction from guests the Far East Movement, the fellas jumped into ‘Go Hard’ along with a bunch of other songs. The video quality is great but the sound gets pretty distorted at times. It looked like a pack house though the energy seemed to vary throughout the span of the footage.
