The Youtube Pop Covers Round-Up – 1/27/12
Happy Friday! This is yet another collection of youtube covers, this time around the centralizing genre is Pop. There are some extremely creative visuals here, along with some of the more run-of-the-mill-and-sing-in-front-of-a-webcam varieties, but all in all there’s a little something for everyone. We’ve got tunes from various decades, dating back from the 70′s – so it’s kind of interesting to hear what was and is Pop. Enjoy!

Jessica Sanchez Rumored to Be in Top 42 for American Idol Season 11
For the time being, this bit of information is purely from the rumor mill, but word has it that young Jessica Sanchez has auditioned for this season of American Idol and just may be in the top 42. If this is true, and if the format has not changed, that means she’s on the shortlist for what will ultimately be whittled down to the top 24 that will have a chance to perform on live TV. Here are a couple of different blogs that have her listed in the top 42: MJsBigBlog, TheIdolPad Personally, I can’t wait to see if it’s true – the kid has a lot of talent. True, the show may not have quite the same luster as it once did, but it’s still one of the biggest platforms for undiscovered talent to make a name for themselves.

The Holiday Covers Round-Up Part 2
We told you we’d keep em coming! Here’s another batch of Holiday themed covers by a few R&B/Pop specialists. Legaci kicks things off by covering their employer’s (Bieber) hit, “Mistletoe”. Paul Kim & Jae Jin sing on the solo tip with a couple classic covers, Jessica Sanchez with an old standard, and Eunice Kiss rounds it out with the playful “Santa Baby”. So if you’re in the holiday spirit, this is a great opportunity for you to groove to some fantastic covers.

This is first Youtube round up for November and we decided to keep you all warm with a collection of duet videos. There’s a pretty big range of genres here, so I’m sure you’re bound to find something you like. Jessica Sanchez Performs “What Ya Want”
I’m usually not a fan of single-cam, crowd sourced performance footage but this one is passable in quality and most importantly showcases young Jessica Sanchez performing an original song of hers called “What Ya Want”. Jessica’s videos are almost exclusively comprised of covers but this is a notable exception. Could this be an upcoming single? A cut off an EP or an album? We’re not sure but we’ll be sure to let you know once we find out!
Olivia T x Michelle Martinez x Jessica Sanchez to Perform for MYX TV Concert in Monterey Park, CA – 8/27
Continuing with their usual trend of putting together great line ups, MYX TV is bringing you So Cal folks the Front N Center: Divas Downloaded concert event featuring Olivia T, Michelle Martinez & Jessica Sanchez as the triple feature headliners. The show is a completely free affair and will be held on August 27th (a week from today) at the Atlantic Times Square in Monterey Park. Stay afterwards for a Meet & Greet as well.
Youtube Singers Release Tribute Single for Japan Tsunami & US Tornado Victims
A total of 55 Youtubers have contributed to this project single called “We Pray for You”, a tribute song for the victims of terrible natural disasters in Japan and the US. The concept is similar to the Haiti tribute from last year. A number of a-Tuners were in the mix including Chris Cedeña, Stacy Dudero, AJ Rafael, Kevin Lien, David Choi, Jason Chen, and Jessica Sanchez. The track is an awesome gesture and full of great intention although to be quite frank, while it’s beautifully sung it felt so heavy handed and overly-syrupy. Needless to say these singers are trying to do something great with their talents, and I support that. The song is available on iTunes & Amazon.
Proceeds go to the Japan redcross to benefit disaster victims of Japan’s Earthquake/Tsunami and to the American redcross for the victims of recent tornadoes in the southern United States.

Jessica Sanchez Sings Duet with Brandon Kane – “Just You and Me”
Youtube starlet Jessica Sanchez has a new duet out with former child star Brandon Kane, perhaps best known for his touring role as Young Simba with Disney. Their duet is called “Just You and Me” and both showcase vocals well beyond their age. You can check out a clip of them in the studio, crafting the song. The track is available on iTunes and AmazonMP3.
Jessica Sanchez x Anthony Balmeo Cover “Talking to the Moon” By Bruno Mars
We’ve started to move away from posting your everyday youtube cover unless there is a download involved or a big collaboration of some time, but this one easily stands out of the pack. Jessica Sanchez and Anthony Balmeo killed this one. I seriously like it just as much as the original. In my opinion Jessica is a hugely talented singer that shows her young age at times by over singing but this was not a problem here. Her beautiful vocals coupled with Ant’s great guitar playing make this a must see cover.
Jessica Sanchez Performs at LA Dodger Game
The great thing about LA is that it represents a city that is practically the poster child for diversity. The Dodger’s have had a number of AA talent come through and sing the anthem and “God Bless America”, some doing it better than others, but Jessica Sanchez is one of the latest and although we tend to avoid handheld fan-cam footage, her performance was so on point we couldn’t help but post it up. She killed it!
