Verseatile Release the Lyric Video for “Ride to Oblivion” ft Jin

It may have been a month since Verse first shared the song “Ride to Oblivion” featuring the one and only Jin, but it’s now being given something more of a proper promotion. They just released the typography video, and the song has officially dropped on iTunes – so now you can get a more dynamic viewing of the lyrics and put the song on your collection all at the same time. Short of an official music video, this is pretty much everything you could ask for.

Jin Recounts Freestyle Friday from 10 Yrs Ago with “After Tonight”

Rapper Jin takes a trip down memory lane with a song called “After Tonight”. March marks the 10 year point since his famous appearance on Freestyle Friday on BET’s 106 & Park program, where he proceeded to win 7 weeks of 1 on 1 battles to become inducted into the hall of fame. Though we have a more indepth look back planned in the comings weeks, this track will get you pretty much up to speed if you happened to miss Jin’s first big claim to fame.

Verseatile Collabs with Jin on a “Ride to Oblivion”

Verse makes a return with a new single called “Ride to Oblivion”, featuring the veteran MC Jin. The track is an inward look at each artist’s place in music, life and faith and keeping them all in sync. There’s an official video in the works, so we’ll be sure to post that up whenever it drops. Hopefully we’ll get some footage of the two together, but this may be a long-distance-send-my-parts-over-mediafire type of affair.

Jin Revisits His ’2 Fast 2 Furious’ Days, Working with Carl Choi, US Album & More with Asiance

In an indepth interview with Asiance, Jin the MC touched upon topics both old and new, even revisiting his days as Jimmy the mechanic on 2 Fast 2 Furious. If you’re been wondering why he’s so active on twitter, what’s next in terms of music, and how radical of a change he’s gone through the past few years, then head on over to Asiance Magazine for the full read. It’s been a decade since the guy blew up on 106 & Park, so there’s a lot to reflect on!

The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 3/6/12

If there’s one thing rappers love to do, it’s dropping remixes. Now, everyone is taking the extra step to differentiate themselves by putting together full music videos for their remixes, but the easy way out is to throw some cover art or an image over the track and post it to Youtube. That’s exactly what’s been done here. All the songs are pre-recorded, studio-esque quality songs, most available as a free DL, but there is hardly a visual to match – effectively turning Youtube into a new school jukebox. At least Jin took it a half step further and threw some lyrics up on one of his videos! (To be fair, I prefer this over the webcam rap videos…)

Jin Releases “Sincerely Yours 2.0″

If you’re a Jin fan, you may recall a little EP he released last Spring called Sincerely Yours, it was a 5 track release that was promoted briefly before he unveiled the more polished singles like “Shoot for the Moon” and “When the Lights Come On” later that year. But with anticipation building for his long-awaited new English album, he’s decided to re-release the EP under the Sincerely Yours 2.0 banner. It’s the same tracks, same beats, same lyrics, only now they’ve been re-recorded and remastered for a much cleaner sound. You can get the not so new but improved songs as a free download, here.

The Songs About Jeremy Lin Round-Up

If you are Asian-American or have a fair amount Asian-American friends, you may have noticed that NBA’s latest feel-good story, Jeremy Lin, has been a huge hot topic as of late. He’s become a starter for the NY Knicks and has had some great games for several consecutive nights.

Well, the rising basketball star has certainly inspired a lot of people, including some of our artists. Already we’re beginning to see songs about Mr. Lin and we suspect it isn’t over yet. So this post will serve as a running collection of the songs, in reverse chronological order of release (Newest at the top). So far it’s Gowe and Jin, but I’m sure there”ll be more to follow!
