Lyricks stepped in the booth with Dope Inc on a state of the union song called “Virginia”. It’s a straightforward Hip-Hop track for purist fans of the genre. The visual is a simple, in-studio video that ties together the artists that call the 10th state of the USA home. The only thing to keep in mind is that with so many verses, the hook gets a bit repetitive by play’s end. Stay till the end to see a little rehearsal footage of JL & Mani.

Petey-O x C-Note x JL Collab For “Light It Up”

Virginia MCs sure like to stick together, and I can understand why. For this particular case, we have representatives from Belly Out an SuperNoVa. Petey-O, C-Note & JL have jumped on a beat by ctru, in that order. Those wanting a break from the overly polished songs of the radio may find solace in this track of a more raw persuasion. Unfortunately we don’t have a download link, but you can stream via Soundcloud.
[Edit - You can now DL via Soundcloud too]
Snapshot: Lyricks x Dumbfoundead x Esna Yoon x Manifest x Zo x Lyraflip x JL
I’m honestly not sure when or where this picture was taken, or even how we found it. But my best guess is that this is on set of the music video for “Lava” by JL, L. Scatterbrain, Lyraflip, Lyricks, Manifest, Dumbfoundead and DJ Zo – meaning the photo has to be at least a year and a half to two years old. How’s that for a Snapshot in time? Esna makes an appearance though L.S. is curiously missing… perhaps he’s taking the picture?
Odd to think how much has happened since this photo was taken. Mani & JL have been to Korea and back again (welcome home fellas!), Lyricks has remained a staple in the DMV/East Coast Hip-Hop scene, Dumb & Zo have been conquering the world… and I dunno where Flip & Scatter are right now. They’ve been kind of quiet, fell off our radar a bit. Can’t wait to see what will become of everyone in another two years!
