Manifest & JL Featured on Seoul Cypher Volume 3

Came across this dope clip of Manifest & JL when they appeared on a Hip-Hop web-series based out of South Korea called Seoul Cypher. Mani steps up first, followed by JL and the host Pinnacle The Hustler closing it out with the third and final (and surprisingly bilingual) verse. Nothing fancy here, just some raw lyricism like they used to do in the good ol’ days haha. Now’s probably a good time to remind you to check out their joint mixtape that dropped earlier this year.

[Album Release] JL x Manifest – Pull.Haul.Junkies Mixtape [Free DL]

Two-thirds of the Beautiful Cycle (JL x Manifest) camp has been out in Korea, but that hasn’t slowed down their grind one bit. In fact they’ve been busier than ever and here is their first post-domestic collection of tracks – the Pull.Haul.Junkies mixtape. There are a ton of supporting characters here too including Lyricks (of course), Khovito, MYK, Jin, Petey-O, C-Note and more. We’ve heard a couple tracks on here before including “Bloodsport“, “It Was Written“, and “Scarves“. It’s a free DL, check the Bandcamp widget below.

[Single Release] Manifest x Jin x JL x Lyricks – “It Was Written” [Free DL]

Here’s the first cut off the Pull.Haul.Junkies mixtape by Manifest & JL, due tomorrow (5/31). It’s a remix of the Damien Marley track “It Was Written” that features Jin & Lyricks as well. The four MC’s went in hard on this one – a good look & dope international collab from VA to Hong Kong to South Korea. But don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself – it’s a free DL.

Critic’s Corner: Decipher – The Effect

It’s been years since we’ve seen a full-length LP from Philadelphia rapper Decipher. Sure, we’ve seen a couple mixtapes from him along with a plethora of feature spots on other artists’ songs but those aren’t enough to truly gauge how an artist has evolved over time compared to an actual, conceptualized album. But this changed at the top of 2011, when Decipher dropped his long awaited return, The Effect. The MUzO artist did a good job of building anticipation for the album, but does it live up to the hype? We’re gonna find out.

Live Perf Footage of MYK x Dumbfoundead x Manifest x JL x DJ Zo Released

If you haven’t been keeping up, there have been a lot of Hip-Hop heads doing their thin in Korea lately. Mani & JL have been out there for a few months now, linking up with the likes of MYK and others. Well Dumbfoundead and his connected-at-the-hip DJ Zo made it out to the mothaland and they all connected for a sick show hosted by Mic Swagga. Here are some highlights from the gig. It makes me wish I traveled around the world to catch it in person.

Decipher Releases The Effect Album

Decipher has dropped his latest solo album, The Effect, of which we’ve heard a couple of tracks from so far. The album features Dumbfoundead, Lyricks, DJ Zo, Jay Park, Furis, JL, Andrew Choi, Manifest, Schoolboy DUKE, Ailee and Sam Ock. The album is currently available digitally from Bandcamp and as a CD from his big cartel store. Look for it to be released soon on iTunes and AmazonMP3 as well. You can stream the whole release via the widget below. Start the new year off right with some fresh hip-hop!

[Free DL] Decipher Releases “Catch Me If You Can” ft Ailee & Tracklist for The Effect

Uhhh… it’s official, Decipher’s a problem. It’s been quite some time since he dropped an official single but his comeback song “Catch Me If You Can” only proves the guy hasn’t lost a step. I’m being completely honest when I say this is one of the strongest hip-hop singles I’ve had the opportunity to share with you on a-Tunes all year. Of course Ailee kills it on the hook, but she also kills it on the closing rap verse. What? Ailee, spitting? You read that right folks. You gotta hear it to believe it; who could have guess that!? The song is a free DL.

In related news, De has released the official tracklist to The Effect, his next full length album featuring the above single. I guess great talent enjoys like company because you got features from Dumbfoundead, Jay Park, Lyricks, Furis, JL, Andrew Choi, Manifest, DJ Zo, Schoolboy DUKE, Sam Ock and of course Ailee as you already heard. Ri-effing-diculous.

Decipher x Manifest x Lyricks x JL Drop “Soju Life” [Free DL]

We all know that The Beautiful Cycle crew and MUzO are two tight knit crews. The guys not only make music together, but they chill together, break bread together and drink together too. That’s probably why they decided to throw this track together, remixing Ne-yo’s Champagne Life and flipping it to better represent their Korean roots, aka the “Soju Life”. You can DL the track for free here. Although I’m not much of a drinker myself, I can appreciate everyone’s flow over the subject matter itself.
This joint was made strictly for fun and the love of alcohol. We took Neyo’s Champagne Life and put a Korean twist to it. This is our homage to the nectar of the Korean God’s, soju. The intro and hook are supposed to be us just chilling at the Korean BBQ spot and getting our soju shots on, getting loud, and having fun. We brought Muzo and Beautiful Cycle together on this one. Something we like to call The Muzical Cycle. I introduce the track, Mani runs up right after me, Lyricks comes in with some heat, then JL anchors the track with something heavy. We wrote and recorded all of this within an hour at RePercussion studio’s in Philly, shout out to Andy Ha! It ain’t all that serious, just something we had fun making so we hope yall have fun listening!
