AR interviews femcee Shin B

AznRaps has posted a new interview feature Korean American femcee Shin B.

Some highlights include:

“When I was in Korea, they were trying to pair me up with this slutty female singer and make us a duo. I barely got any parts in our songs and it would basically be her running the show. I had to learn slutty dance moves and would be forced to act like a ditz. I hated it, but I did it because I didn’t care what it took as long as I got there. The record label told me that the kind of music I wanted to do wasn’t going to sell and that I was trying to be too “hip hop” (whatever that means). I felt suffocated. I felt trapped. I felt like I had to dumb myself down. Not to mention, I was put through nonsense diets and exercise just to get rail thin. I was eating like an apple a day and running for miles in monsoon summer heat. This eventually got me so sick to the point I had to be rushed to the hospital (mentioned above).”

Shin B is a great femcee holding it down for asian americans doing music. Make sure you check out the rest of the article.

Bonus after the jump.

KPop Group Wondergirls scheduled to perform in NY

JYP Entertainment’s The Wonder Girls are likely headed back to the Big Apple in October to be the headline performers of The New York Chuseok Festival. The Festival is held yearly to celebrate Chuseok, which is basically Korea’s version of Thanksgiving. Organizers of the NY Chuseok Festival said that they’re currently talking with JYP to have his artists perform and that there’s a 90% chance that both JYP and The Wonder Girls will both perform. Other JYP Entertainment artists such as Min, G-Soul, 2AM, and 2PM might perform as well.

In the past, korean performer Rich and Asian American up and comer R&B artist Ailee have performed at the same festival.
