Kero One Drops Free Sampler Album of Past Material – “The Catch Up”

Kero Uno may have been a bit quiet lately but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about his fans. The bay area artist has been creating music for the better part of the decade and for those who haven’t had the fortune to follow him since the beginning now have the opportunity to be brought up to speed. Kero’s put together a little sampler album with select cuts from his past few releases, including Early Believers, Kinetic World, & Windmills of the Soul. Sounds intruiging? Sam Ock & Kero One Present “Pieces” [MV]

Sam Ock teams up with Kero One once again for a new track entitled “Pieces”, a song they are selling on behalf of the Justice Mission – where all profits will be going to the organization to aid in the fight for global human rights. The two have proven to be a strong team in the past and this effort is no different. A great song for a great cause, what more could you want? There’s really not a whole lot to say except if you’re in SoCal tomorrow (the 22nd) then you want to be sure to make your way to the 10th Avenue Theater in San Diego. One of our favorite apparel brands, My Ninja Clothing, is hosting an event headlined by Kero One, afterschoolspecial, IAMMEDIC, and DJ Peter Rocks himself. I totally wish I could be there too but it’s on the wrong coast. The posted says part 1 of 2, so be on the lookout for another blowout event this summer! Deets after the break.

[Interview + Live Performance] Kero One w/ MYX-Rated

Here’s another dope clip from the MYX-Rated show, this time featuring Bay-Area artist Kero One. They have a quick chat with the MC along with a dope live performance set where he performs a medley of “When the Sunshine Comes”, “All the Wrong Places”, and “Asian Kids”. I always dig it when an MC mixes it up with live instrumentation.

Showdown: Kero One x David Choi vs Arden Cho x Megan Lee

Now this is an interesting Shodown feature. It’s the battle of the sexes edition where two teams ended up covering the same song, the infectious “Forget You” by Cee-Lo. In one corner we have Frisco’s Kero One & SoCal’s David Choi teaming up to go against opponents Arden Cho & Megan Lee. They all did an incredible job, check out the videos below.

The males chose to recreate the song organically and added a little bit of their own flavor. The females stuck a little closer to the original but added the dynamic of a vocal duet. This one’s tough, it’s kind of a toss up. What do you all think?

A couple weeks back we showed you a preview of Kero’s latest MV for an older single of his called “Stay on the Grind”. Kero Uno takes the opportunity to explore skateboarding culture in this collaboration with veteran artist Ohmega Watts dating back to one of his earlier albums – Early Believers. I haven’t had the chance to peep the video in full myself but I’ll post up my thoughts later.

Kero One Shares Teaser of Upcoming “Stay on the Grind” MV

Bay area MC Kero One is getting ready to drop a new MV for his song “Stay on the Grind” featuring Hip-Hop veteran Ohmega Watts. The song is off his previous album Early Believers. I didn’t know K. One could skateboard! Anyway the video is set to drop soon but you can get a behind the scenes glimpse of what’s to come from the multi-talented artist.

Here’s a little teaser of what’s to come in my latest music video Stay on the Grind feat. Ohmega watts off my last album Early Believers.  Backtracking a bit, Ohmega had introduced me to director James Cheeks, who had been directing his documentary “On the Grind” .  His documentary documented the long beach skate scene in the aftermath of a shooting that killed Black Mike, a local professional skateboarder.  It seemed very appropriate to collaborate with James on this video.  Check it out…
