Kero One Announces Upcoming Album – ‘Color Theory’

Mr. Kero Uno is winding down the preparations for his next project, Color Theory, and has given it a tentative release date of “early July”. Kero made the announcement on twitter along with posting up the album cover, which you can see above. This will be the first major project since the web designer-turned-musician released Kinetic World back in 2010. We’re certainly looking forward to it’s release come July!

Kero One x Esna Show Us the “Fast Life”

Well this was a long time comin’! Kero One just dropped the music video to a single off his 2010 album, Kinetic World. “Fast Life” is collaborative joint with Esna (who now spends her days as a singer/writer in Korea) – a favorite musical companion of Kero’s. Though this song ain’t exactly brand new, the great blend of animation and footage make for a visually appealing MV.

Kero One Makes a Comeback with “What Am I Supposed to Do?” Single & MV

Kero One has returned to his rightful place behind the mic and camera lens with a new single – “What Am I Supposed to Do?”. This is a track with a message against human injustice and serves as the lead cut off KO’s upcoming LP, due this summer. The soulful hook is provided courtesy of Suhn (of the Tones). I’m sure we can expect much more material from Mr. Uno in the coming months.

There’s really not a whole lot to say except if you’re in SoCal tomorrow (the 22nd) then you want to be sure to make your way to the 10th Avenue Theater in San Diego. One of our favorite apparel brands, My Ninja Clothing, is hosting an event headlined by Kero One, afterschoolspecial, IAMMEDIC, and DJ Peter Rocks himself. I totally wish I could be there too but it’s on the wrong coast. The posted says part 1 of 2, so be on the lookout for another blowout event this summer! Deets after the break.

[Interview + Live Performance] Kero One w/ MYX-Rated

Here’s another dope clip from the MYX-Rated show, this time featuring Bay-Area artist Kero One. They have a quick chat with the MC along with a dope live performance set where he performs a medley of “When the Sunshine Comes”, “All the Wrong Places”, and “Asian Kids”. I always dig it when an MC mixes it up with live instrumentation.

Showdown: Kero One x David Choi vs Arden Cho x Megan Lee

Now this is an interesting Shodown feature. It’s the battle of the sexes edition where two teams ended up covering the same song, the infectious “Forget You” by Cee-Lo. In one corner we have Frisco’s Kero One & SoCal’s David Choi teaming up to go against opponents Arden Cho & Megan Lee. They all did an incredible job, check out the videos below.

Kero One x David Choi

Arden Cho x Megan Lee

The males chose to recreate the song organically and added a little bit of their own flavor. The females stuck a little closer to the original but added the dynamic of a vocal duet. This one’s tough, it’s kind of a toss up. What do you all think?
