YG Entertainment and Kollaboration team up for 2012 YG auditions

The global 2012 YG auditions are rolling out and for the North America auditions, they’ve teamed up with Kollaboration to host the auditions that will take place in: Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver, and Toronto!

The audition schedule as follows:
2012. 07. 11. Toronto, Canada – Dosan Hall Gallery
2012. 07. 14. Seattle, US – Korean American Broadcasting Hall
2012. 07. 21. Los Angeles, US – Korean Cultural Center

Just ‘Cause: A Dance Choreo to Clara C’s “Offbeat” by Innonim

This is a pretty cute video. Dance crew Innonim (runner ups at Kollaboration ATL 2012), decided to flip the script a little bit and performed a choreo to neither a Hip-Hop nor Pop nor R&B nor Dub-steb track. Instead, they chose Clara C‘s infectious tune – “Offbeat“. The following clip has both a street performance as well as the footage from the show itself. Their choreo has character and heart, even if it’s not the sharpest act I’ve seen.

Kollaboration Atlanta 5 Contestants Release Promo MV

The 5th installment of the Kollaboration competition in ATL may only be days away (Saturday, February 14th!), but they contestants have put together a promo music video, following Kollab tradition. They chose to remix Flo-Rida’s “Good Feeling”, with nods to Etta James, Avicii and Skrillex. Clara C & Adam WarRock (past Kollab winners) will be representing as guest performers at Saturday’s show. Kollaboration Boston 2 Releases Promo Music Videos – Show Set for April 21st

The Kollaboration Boston 2 contestants have followed tradition and put together a promotional music video. This year’s song is Beyonce’s “Love on Top” and a remix of Childish Gambino’s “Heartless”. Andy Kim, Concept Artists, Fusion, Justin Chiou, K-Soul, Uprising, and Yui Mugino will be playing, singing, and dancing in direc competition against one another for this year’s bragging rights and a thousand dollars. Just Cause: The Jubilee Project’s Spotlight on PK of Kollaboration

Paul “PK” Kim is the founder of the Kollaboration competition series – a platform for Asian-American artists that was built on the motto of “Empowerment through Entertainment”. Though he’s since stepped down from the director position, his vision is still being realized. The Jubilee Project has released a spotlight interview video on PK, interspersed with footage from one of the last shows he hosted – Kollaboration DC 2010. #DreamBig

The Jubilee Project had the opportunity to spotlight an incredible leader in the community, Paul “PK” Kim who began Kollaboration over 10 years ago. Kollaboration has since become a national force that has discovered an incredible number of talented people around the country and empowered young people around the world.

We hope this is an inspiration to #DreamBig!

The Kollaboration Seattle Contestants Release the 2K11 MV

Keeping with Kollaboration tradition, this year’s batch of Northwester contestants in Seattle have released their music video, a cover of Katy Perry’s “Firework”. Along  the competitors vying for top honors, there will be special performances by Australia’s Jayesslee, Gowe and more. Also, there are some great guest judges including Travis from New Heights, Kenny Choi, and last year’s Sea-town winner, Erin Kim – among others. Kollaboration NY 2011 Contestants Release Promo MV

These Kollaboration MVs are becoming too legit. We saw the preview a couple weeks back, and the NY show is coming up in a month’s time at the end of September, so here is the final cover MV of Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” by all the contestants. The talent pool seems to run deep this year so you can expect a heated competition. NY, you have one heck of a show coming your way. Check after the break for more information.

The Kollaboration DC 2011 Contestants Release Promo MV

Wow, nearly one year has already passed since the maiden launch of Kollaboration in the nation’s capital. Let me tell you first hand, it was quite the show and experience last year and one I highly recommend you check out now that it’s in it’s second year. If you’re anywhere near the DMV, then do not miss out! The show will be held at UDC on September 17th, just a few short weeks away. Additional information can be found at the FB event page, at the Kollab DC website, and after the break. Jen Kwok is slated to host with a number of guest performers including Sickboi and last year’s winner, Chip Han!

A Teaser Clip for the Kollaboration NY 2011 MV

Ooh, I’m liking the looks of this. Entering their 6th show, Kollaboration NY is one of the more veteran cities to host one of the longest running platforms for our communities’ talents. So it’s no wonder why their upcoming MV for this year’s show looks to have the polish and production values to match! This year’s card of contestants looks to be quite stacked and I saw a few familiar faces in the teaser below (set to Maroon 5‘s “Moves Like Jagger“), including Rooftop Pursuit and Triangle Offense.
