Catch Up with Dia Frampton Behind The Scenes of Her KoreAm Photoshoot

A couple weeks back, we shared with you the cover of the October issue of KoreAm magazine featuring Dia Frampton. The following video clip is of some behind the scenes footage from the photo shoot for the article, including some brief interviews with the crew involved along with Dia herself. It’s a recommend viewing for any Dia fan. It’s no secret, I’m an unapologetic supporter myself!

Priscilla Ahn Sings ‘Find My Way Back Home’

The Might Fifty has released yet more footage of Priscilla Ahn‘s excellent performance event for KoreAm. She sings a sweet rendition of her song ‘Find My Way Back Home’, complete with ukulele. Her music is always so soothing to the soul. I’m still kicking myself for missing her event when she was in my area.

Priscilla Ahn Sings ‘The Boobs Song’

In case you missed our post about Priscilla Ahn’s performance from her KoreAm show, then you’re in luck cause we got another one, once again courtesy of The Mighty Fifty. She sings her quirky but honest and vulnerable original ‘The Boobs Song’, make sure you catch the story behind it in the beginning.

Oh and there’s some kazoo action… and it’s immaculate. Haha.

I always liked this song (it’s been around for a little while now) but it’s great to see such clean footage of it for once =). But hearing she’s engaged kind of broke my heart, just a little bit.

Priscilla Ahn x KoreAm x The Mighty Fifty Present ‘Living In A Tree’ Live Performance

Presented by KoreAm Journal and produced by The Mighty Fifty, a live performance with Priscilla Ahn.

Late last year Priscilla Ahn did a live web show for KoreAm. The performances were shot by video production group The Mighty Fifty and they have released one of the numbers earlier today. Sound work was done by Peter Rocks (of My Ninja!) fame. I haven’t had a chance to check out the footage yet but all of the people involved rarely dissapoint so I doubt this will.

WTF: Denizen Kane x KoreAm – The ‘Take Me Out’ Mixtape

How’s everyone doing so far this week? It’s time for another Weekly Thursday Freebie and we’ve found a great release for you all. Denizen Kane, the spoken word poet/MC is releasing a mixtape called ‘Take Me Out’ for FREE in conjunction with the fine folks of KoreAm.

I have yet to peep the tape since I just found out about it yesterday, but I’ve heard his past work and the dude is deep. This ain’t your typical throwaway commercial music. DK is the type of guy to make you think twice about issues, events, etc. If you’re in the mood for some musical brain food then read on for the link below.

We have a special treat for you! To celebrate the holidays, hip-hop artist Denizen Kane is giving iamKoreAm.com readers a mixtape of his old, new and unreleased work, mixed by mr REY. For a free download, click here.

Dennis “Denizen Kane” Kim co-founded the Chicago hip-hop crew Typical Cats and has appeared on HBO’sDef Poetry twice. He is featured in the December issue of KoreAm. (See what the soulful artist carries in his suitcase here.)  Denizen’s latest release, Brother Min’s Journey to the West, is available now atwww.galapagos4.com.  Hear more of his music at www.myspace.com/treecitylegends and his group work atwww.myspace.com/typicalcats.

Priscilla Ahn x KoreAm Live Show Posted

KoreaAm has put together another live chat session/broadcast show, this time featuring the amazingly talented Priscilla Ahn. The show was hosted by Big Phony (who had his own show a couple months back) and included guest musician Wendy Wang of The Sweet Hurt. I was only able to catch a short part of it last night but they’ve thankfully posted the show in it’s entirety for you to stream. I’m loving how much easier it is to connect artists and fans these days.

Last night’s web show with Priscilla Ahn was magical. Her voice was heavenly and her sweet, giggly personality was infectious. I have a girl-crush, I’ll admit it. She had me at “curmudgeon-y.”

If you couldn’t catch the live performance, you can replay it in its entirety right here. (You can also access it from our KoreAm LIVE page at any time.) The most breathtaking song, in my opinion, was “Holy, Holy, Holy,” which Priscilla played with Big Phony and The Sweet Hurt. Scroll to about 00:46:00 to listen. Like I said, magical.

Just wanted to thank all the talented people for making this show possible (these live chats appear super casual but they’re actually run by a pretty massive crew): the wonderful Priscilla Ahn (of course), our rockstar host Big Phony, vocalist/keyboardist Wendy Wang of The Sweet Hurt, the team at Future Rockstars of America, Peter of My Ninja Clothing and Charles and Justin of The Mighty Fifty. I know people always say, “We couldn’t have done it without you” but we really couldn’t have done it without you.

Cheers everyone!
