The Throwback Ballads Youtube Covers Round-Up – 3/24/12

We decided to end the week on a more calm note. These are a collection of old-school, favorite ballads from decades past including covers of everyone from Diana Ross to Stevie Nicks, to Aaliyah, to N’Sync. There are many familiar faces voices here, along with a couple surprises. Hope you had as fun a time going down memory lane as I did!

Krystle Tugadi Shares the “Sunshine” MV

It’s been some time since we first heard Krystle Tugadi‘s “Sunshine”, from it’s initial debut to it’s inclusion on her Time EP and we’re happy to say the song still holds up well, even a year and change later – it’s still one of our favorites. So we were happy to hear that she would be putting together a music video to promote the single – which has made it’s debut today. The visuals were done on a small budget and unfortunately the production values reflect that. The heart of it is still enjoyable but overall it still pales in comparison with what some of her contemporaries have done, even with limited funds themselves. The most notable flaw being the odd aspect ratio you’ll see below.

‘Time’ EP by Krystle Tugadi Now Available

Ok, ok. So maybe we are a few days late on this one, but as reportedKrystle Tugadi has dropped her new EP, Time, last Friday and the 6 track release is available via iTunes. Glad to see that “Sunshine“, a single she dropped last year, was included on the EP but if you want to check out the rest, you can peep a preview clip after the break. Not a bad way to part with 5 bucks and 94 cents if you’re in the market for some new tunage.

Krystle Tugadi To Release ‘The Time EP’ on 11.11.11

You can add The Time, the latest EP from Krystle Tugadi, to the list of albums coming out on November 11th. I understand the appeal of that date but music fans will need to save some money for the release heavy date. Don’t have too many details at the moment but the album will be available digitally on iTunes & Amazon, and in physical form as well. For those in the city of angels, Tugadi is holding a release party on the 11th, where you can pick up the album too.

The Unplugged Youtube Covers Round-Up – 10/7/11

We figure we’d kick off the start of the weekend on this beautiful Friday with a round-up of (mostly) acoustic covers that have recently graced everyone’s favorite video sharing site. We got renditions of some newer hits along with some classic throwback jams, giving you a decent mix of tunage. April Chase returns with a Foster the People cover, Nessa x Krystle x Karol give an impressively harmonious performance of a Tamia classic, Sam Tsui takes on Adele, Esther Lee continues to represent her Faith with a Third Day number, Kaile Goh drops a rock mash up, XOXO goes back in time for a Blaque track, and Meesh switches up a Lil Wayne joint. All in all, there’s a lot of great music here, check em all out!

Showdown: David Choi vs Kollaboration 10 vs Kris Mark x Krystle Tugadi vs Joseph Vincent

It’s been a while since our last Showdown, and after seeing a new cover of the new(ish) Train song ‘Hey Soul Sister’ I thought it’d be fitting to round up some of the covers and do a fun little comparison. This time we got another fairly big group with David Choi, the Kollaboration 10 Competitors (Will Volume, Paul Jisung Kim, Mike Isberto, Clara Chung, Jason Yang, Sam Hart & Alfa Garcia), Kris Mark & Krystle Tugadi, and Joseph Vincent all putting their own spin on the fun little single.

So which version is your favorite?

David Choi with his crazy layers?

The Kollaboration 10 Crew with the massive ensemble?

Kris Mark & Krystle Tugadi’s acoustic R&B twist?

or Joseph Vincent with his simple but breezy interpretation?

Each version brought a pretty unique style to the table so I suppose it’s all a matter of taste but regardless, vote for your favorite(s)!
