Welcome to our latest a-Tunes feature – Snapshot. These posts will simply feature an images and photos we find of artists that frequently appear on our site.
Our first entry is this picture of Kero One, Dok2, Dumbfoundead, and MYK chilling during the recent Spring mini-tour that they had on behalf of Map the Soul.

Soompi keeps churning out these interviews! This time they got to talk with MYK, of the Map the Soul crew over in Korea. He is a Korean American from the Bay area that moved to Korea and ended up linking up with Tablo of Epik High fame and the rest is history. You can hear all about how it happened, along with his thoughts and advice for the Asian Hip-Hop community. I could barely recognize the dude without his long hair haha!
I think Bandcamp has been one of the greatest web 2.0 type of sites to come along for the independent music industry. It provides instant, easy access free of the limitations and restrictions of your typical online music distributors and allows artists and fans alike more choices. It’s likely the reason why you see so many artists featured on this site choosing to spread their music through band camp, with prices that vary from free to whatever you want to pay and everything in between.
But a Weekly Thursday Freebie wouldn’t be a freebie if you had to give up a McChicken for a track would it? That’s why we decided to go 100% legit this week and show you a few offerings from some artists that are either in or affiliated with Map the Soul. That’s right folks, it’s time for some music from Kero One, Tablo and MYK.
Check it out as dumb name drops nearly all the entire map the soul crew. This is a continuation of a project Epik High announced last month where they release free music for all us cheapskates. You can get the track here.

Tablo gives a vlog update to let everyone know what’s going on w/ the Map the Soul crew. He talks about Dok2, Planet Shiver, MYK & Epik High letting you know they are all still on the grind, always putting out that good music.
Are you a fan of Epik High, MYK, dumbfoundead and others involved with this past summer’s Map the Soul tour? Recession got you down, digging deep as you save up to splurge on that McDouble?
Well you’re in luck because those artists are offering music for free, legit! Simply navigate to Epik High’s website and view their “free menu”. There are only a few tracks up right now from Tablo, MYK and the like but more artists have been announced (such as dumb) and will be added over time!

It’s official, after much speculation it’s confirmed that dumbfoundead is definitely working and talking with some of Korean Hip-Hop’s biggest players.
dumb shouts out the quiett, Drunken Tiger, Epik High, and the whole Movement Crew before going into a verse over a beat produced by the quiett with DJ Zo on the tables.
My mind is officially blown. I love it when things go international!
I guess this is what happens when you open for one of Korea’s biggest music groups huh? Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Famous Hip Hop publication The Source recently featured a blog post on the Epik High concert stop in NYC for their Map the Soul tour.
It’s a good quick read and offers a recap of what went down in NYC that night. Great to see their music going international.
Information for the Epik High & Far East Movement tour we previously reported has been released. I just wish there was a show in the DC area too.
