In this special clip by Knocksteady productions, California’s Mike B and producer LODEF perform their single “Light Up” from last summer’s Better Late Than Never mixtape. This isn’t an MV per se, rather a polished video of a live session. The live mix version of this track that you hear can be downloaded for free as well. It’s a pretty dope watch for your Friday afternoon.

The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 3/6/12
If there’s one thing rappers love to do, it’s dropping remixes. Now, everyone is taking the extra step to differentiate themselves by putting together full music videos for their remixes, but the easy way out is to throw some cover art or an image over the track and post it to Youtube. That’s exactly what’s been done here. All the songs are pre-recorded, studio-esque quality songs, most available as a free DL, but there is hardly a visual to match – effectively turning Youtube into a new school jukebox. At least Jin took it a half step further and threw some lyrics up on one of his videos! (To be fair, I prefer this over the webcam rap videos…)

Mike B Gives “Back to You” For Free
“Back to You” is a little Mark Watson produced freebie from rapper Mike B. It makes use of a famous Al Green sample for an easy, laid back listen. I’m not sure if this is just a one-off release or part of a bigger, upcoming project, but we’ll just have to wait and see I guess. Go ahead and pick up the single for free, here.
Showdown: Azuré vs Toestah vs Nump Trump vs Mike B vs On Fire Entertainment
Why don’t we indulge ourselves in a little leap year Showdown, where we have a little friendly comparison of artists that cover/remix the same songs and then vote for the one we think pulled it off better.
Those that are heavy Hip-Hop listeners should be familiar with “Stay Schemin’”, a song by Rick Ross featuring Drake & French Montana. The beat is too sick to ignore, and it would seem a lot of other MCs would agree with me – hence the proliferation of remixes all over Youtube/Soundcloud/Bandcamp and the like. Today, we have 5 in particular we’d like you to listen to/watch and let us know which one is the best flip. Interestingly enough, all the rappers in this Showdown are from the West, repping the whole cost from San Diego to Seattle.

Mike B is Ready to “Roll Credits” [MV]
Mike B is one of the newer voices to come out of K-Town LA, who has gotten the co-sign from the region’s veterans including Dumb, Furis, Surrilla and more. In preparation for the release of his upcoming project Better Late Than Never, he’s dropped the MV for the intro – “Roll Credits”. Johnny Art aka Furis is the man responsible for the clean visuals; you can expect the full collection of songs to drop July 22nd.
Surrilla x Decipher x Mike B Remix “Pokerface”
Lady Gaga’s “Pokerface” may not be so fresh anymore, but this random remix dropped by Surrilla, Decipher, and Mike B is still pretty nice. It’s pretty interesting to here a pop staple flipped into a Hip-Hop track. It would have been more newsworthy had this dropped around the same time as the original but I can’t complain too much, a good track is a good track. You can DL the song for free via the widget below.
