The Videoless Youtube Remixes Round-Up 5/3/12

We did it before, a couple months back; bringing you a collection of remixes done by artists that chose to forgo creating a video too. Instead we get a mixture of static images, cover art, and if we’re lucky, a slide show of some type. This has been a staple of the digital age for Hip-Hop artists, as it’s too time consuming to make a video for all their mixtape-ready songs – whether or not you feel they are cutting corners is a completely different story. At the very least you can listen to the following in the background, knowing your not missing much by not paying attention to the (lack of) visuals!

Misfit Remixes “Sail” by Awol Nation

Ed-Two Remixes “The Recipe” by Kendrick Lamar x Dr. Dre

Thai Remixes “Donald Trump” by Mac Miller

J-ricz x Sizzle Remix “Live My Life” by Far East Movement x Justin Bieber

Grand Master Chu x D-One x Inglish Dedicate Song to Japan – “You’re Not Alone”

It’s encouraging to see artists continue to support the troubled nation of Japan after their series of natural disasters. Here’s another track, done by Grand Master Chu, D-One, and Inglish – also known as Model Minority. The song’s called “You’re Not Alone” and is primarily a track about awareness and reaction. Let’s continue to support Japan in all ways that we can.

We watched in horror as the news flooded in – texts, chats, TV reports – of the tragedy that struck our Japanese brothers & sisters on Friday.

As Asian-Americans, we couldn’t help but see echoes of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan.

George Takei said on twitter – “Today, we are all Japanese”.

It’s easy to look at the stories, respond with sadness, but not actually contribute in a productive fashion. We hope this song will encourage our friends, fans, and family to respond graciously and generously.
