Derez Drops the MV for “Bout That”

Derez Brown is following up his lead song off the Derezolution project (“Turn Around, released just a few days ago”), with this street single – “Bout That”. The MV has some tough guy role play in there as Derez goes for a more rugged approach. The album release is still a bit of a ways off, with it scheduled for November 23rd.

mree Releases the MV for “Of the Trees”

Two weeks ago, mree gave us a little preview of the MV for her song “Of the Trees”. The single off the Grow album was one of my favorites of the project, so I’m glad to see it be given a visual promotional push. The young singer matches the ethereal tone of the song. The girl is impressively self reliant, filming and editing the majority of the footage on her own. Lyrics can be found after the break.

Lil Crazed Presents the MV for “Lost a Fan”

Here’s some new material from the head of the KiD camp, Lil Crazed. It’s the music video for “Lost a Fan” off the Liberation: The Lost Tracks release from last year. It’s one of his more subdued and somber songs, a tone that is reflected in the video. You can follow along with the lyrics, below, if you so desired.

View D-Pryde’s “Kicking Infants” MV

This one’s a little bit trippy. D-Pryde drops a visual for “Kicking Infants”, presumably off the Flagship release in June. The young MC from Canada takes a bit of a zanier approach… think Prizzy mixed with Songs to Wear Pants to. Actually, I’m not even sure if that’s bizarre enough of a comparison. Kitty cats, sharks, and rainbows. That’s what you’ll remember from watching this. Personally, I’m glad the kid knows not to take things too seriously.

Just last week, Jay Park released his new mixtape, Fresh Air: Breathe It, including the song “You Know How We Do”, featuring Jonathan Park (no relation) aka Dumbfoundead. Though this isn’t exactly an official music video, a clip was put together using footage from Jay’s recent tour stops in DC & NY of the duo performing the track. At the very least, it’s an entertaining way to stream the song.

Tyga Releases the MV for “Still Got It” ft. Drake

Fans of the part Vietnamese rapper, Tyga, may be happy to see that the Cash Money artist has released the music video for his song “Still Got It”, featuring the one and only Drake. In my opinion, this song is LEVELS above his other songs like “Rack City”, so I’m happy to see this track get a promotional push along with the nods to the days of yesteryear. Not a bad watch, at all.

Watch Monsters Calling Home’s “Growing Up” MV

Ensemble musical group, Monsters Calling Home, have a new MV out for their song “Growing Up”. What more could you ask for than Instragram-like nostalgic visuals in and around Los Angeles all set to the band’s brand of unadulterated Folk-Pop? At the very least, it’s nice to put some faces to the voices and instruments (for those that aren’t well acquainted with the band.)

Brad Go makes an “Ikea” musical

You Tube artist Brad Go is getting some love form his latest song because he mixes in humor with Swedish furniture terms in a song he dubbed, “The Ikea Song.” The whole track was filmed in what looks like an Ikea store and was directed by Lawrence Chen. The track is pretty interactive because the Swedish words that Brad Go uses are highlighted to where you can click and actually learn what they mean. Sounds oddly weird but true, the song will have you laughing through.

If people refer to fresh debuts as ‘new new’, then this could be classified as ‘old new’. It’s new because it’s been unreleased, but both the song and video were actually created some time ago. The song is off Andrew Huang‘s Love Songs project that dropped back last fall, while the video itself predates that by a year, having been filmed in November 2010. I guess Huang has had this in his back pocket for quite some time now.

Filmed in Santa Monica by Philip Bowser, November 2010. I know I know, that’s like a year and a half ago…I was waiting for it to be all summertime outside before posting this…and then 2011 got really crazy…and now here we are…

The “Turn Around” MV has finally had it’s premiere. The Derez x Marnie Brown track will be off the Derezolution album, with a late 2012 release date of November 23rd (talk about early planning). Mr. Brown went for more of a dramatic, cinematic flair – a good decision despite the middling picture quality. “Turn Around” is a free DL, here.
