D-Pryde Releases a ‘Flagship’ PSA

D-Pryde‘s Flagship project will be dropping on June 3rd, and the following “PSA” was released to build a little buzz for it. It’s a little bit bizarre and perhaps even a little bit kinky… I guess the kid Prizzy is growing up, huh? The release will be available on Datpiff by Mars Music Group – so just sit tight for a couple weeks.

Tommy C Debuts New Single & MV – “Open Your Heart Again”

“Open Your Heart Again” is the new single from IBU artist, Tommy C. The R&B/Pop singer decided to take a more dramatic route with the music video for this new single – complete with a big twist. It’s a great concept, even if it isn’t presented with pristine visual production values. The song encourages us to be very discerning with our thoughts and actions – a wise notion, if you ask me.

Has there ever been a time when you wished you didn’t say something to someone? Hurt someone’s feelings? Bullied someone? The message that I wanted to send with this story is to never take life for granted because drastic changes can happen within a blink of an eye. Learn to love, respect, forgive one another, and cherish every moment that comes your way.

“No Chase” MV Released by Hopie Spitshard

Last September, the Raw Gems album was released by Hopie Spitshard. Since that time, we’ve seen the promotions of the singles, “Like Love“, “It’s Beautiful” and “Say Goodbye“. “No Chase” is the next number to be given a visual push, with Aris Jerome at the helm for the video of the 6Fingers produced song. Hopie always keeps things interesting with her creative choices.

Lindsey Yung Returns with the “Fire and Rain” MV

Singer/songwriter Lindsey Yung isn’t one of the perpetually present artists on Youtube, but she does manage to make an appearance now and then. “Fire and Rain” is the latest music video from the former Kollaboration Acoustic contestant, and comes from her The Benchmark EP. The song is a sweeping acoustic ballad, similar to the style of Sarah McLachlan or maybe even 90′s Jewel. It’s a pleasant (though semi-melancholy) listen to wind down the weekend.

Gerald Ko Releases MV for the Original – “Never Fall in Love”

Up until this point, I’ve pretty much known Gerald Ko (better known to many as SinginDork888) as a cover artist on Youtube. So it’s a pleasant surprise to see that for what I believe is his debut single (or at least the first that I’ve seen/heard), he came out swinging with a fully produced MV and digital distribution. The visuals match the quaint acoustic charm of the single (some musical help provided by Jane Lui), sharing the story of an awkward couple that are still right for each other. Look for a cameo by Jason Chen.

Lyricks Once Again Features for Dope Inc – “Hustle Hard”

I guess having Lyricks on just one track wasn’t enough for Dope Inc. They’ve enlisted him for an encore, plugging him into the tail end of “Hustle Hard” with the last verse. The video is a mixed bag of performance and in-studio footage with the latter utilizing a borderline obnoxious strobe. I know Lee, Ricks is on his SuperNoVa studio grind for DMV area artists, but I think it’s about time we hear a new solo joint.

The Covers by Duets Youtube Round-Up 5/17/12

Two can play at that game? What game? I dunno, I just wanted to introduce the concept of two. Deuce. Double. 1+1. Snake Eyes. Duets. Because that’s what we’ve rounded-up for you today. This is all about about two musical artists covering songs both new and old and giving you two subjects to see and hear. This would have been more appropriate for a “Twos”day…. OK, sorry about that. Enjoy!

The visual is a representation of a slightly unorthodox love story, portraying a couple not many artists have used as characters before. Find the lyrics after the break.

Kero One x Esna Show Us the “Fast Life”

Well this was a long time comin’! Kero One just dropped the music video to a single off his 2010 album, Kinetic World. “Fast Life” is collaborative joint with Esna (who now spends her days as a singer/writer in Korea) – a favorite musical companion of Kero’s. Though this song ain’t exactly brand new, the great blend of animation and footage make for a visually appealing MV.
