Not too many lullabies have crossed the pages of this humble site, so it’s a bit of a distinctive honor to share with you “My Angel” by Nessa Rica. The song was written for two recent newborns, as Nessa sings encouragements and blessings over them in what would likely be a peaceful slumber. Undeniably short and sweet.

Mike Isberto has made his return with the release of his new EP, The Last Train. Mike recruited a few friends to help out with the records, including Cathy Nguyen and Nessa Rica, among others. For those keeping score, he gave everyone a little preview of what to expect a week and half ago. We hope to have an album review of this 6-song release (along with a couple other albums) out sometime this Holiday weekend.

Meslissa Polinar, Cathy Nguyen, and Nessa Rica once again team up to sing another M. Polinar original – “Say You’ll Stay” from her late 2010 album, the As of Now EP. This is another video from the same series that brought us their collaborative cover of “Meant to Be”. We already knew the girls sound great together, and this only reinforces the point. Speaking of collaborative groups, I wonder what ever happened to Blyss?
It seems that we finally have some new music from Mike Isberto to look forward to. The Last Train EP is slated for a May 22nd release in just a couple week’s time. It’s hard to ask for more than good friend and good music, especially when it’s all experienced concurrently. Melissa Polinar‘s “Meant to Be” seems to be something of a singer’s song, and lucky for us, she, Cathy Nguyen and Nessa Rica decided to re-visit Polinar’s throwback jam and put their own fresh little spin on it, complete with harmonies. This is the perfect track to unwind to this evening after a long day’s worth of work.
Welcome to Uno de Mayo! It’s another round-up, and since it’s already May and time seems to be flying by, we decided to scour Youtube for the covers of songs from years past. Many of these songs are two decades old or more, so these certainly qualify as ‘throwbacks’. Usher, Radiohead, Mr. Big, Selena, and more! I realize that some of you may be hearing these songs for the first time, which makes me feel a little sad and a little old, but there’s nothing like the classics!

It wasn’t too long ago that the majority of the videos we saw on Youtube were grainy, low resolution videos taken from webcams, compact cameras, and cell phones. But now, these types of videos are almost a minority as many artists have moved on to newer video recording devices. Even still, there are a few hold outs that are sticking to their tried and true capturing methods and the following round-up is a collection of such clips.
