It’s been months since the Notorious MSG first revealed the preview for their “Red Tonight” music video (announced in May). But the day has come for it’s official release, in all it’s nostalgia-hazed, stylistic glory. The song is from their Heavy Ghetto album that dropped earlier this year and well… let’s just say both are 100% authentic MSG. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether that’s a good or bad thing. As for me, their general zaniness and debauchery tends to err more on the side of humorous than not… mutchasuckaaaaa.

Promoters for Canadian Event Cancel Notorious MSG Show Due to Content
The Notorious MSG were never really… how shall I say this… family friend to say the least. Their brand of musical comedy has always been contingent upon outrageous schtick and and general tomfoolery, none of which could be deemed politically correct. Love it or hate it, that’s what makes the MSG, them. Needless to say, it appears that some promoters/organizers for an event in Toronto didn’t quite do their homework and pulled the plug on their 2nd of 2 scheduled appearances after they deemed the 1st too offensive.
Honestly, I think discernment and foresight are two invaluable qualities. If the MSG’s material wasn’t appropriate, so be it… but that should have been determined long before they ever set foot on the stage. Someone dropped the ball here.
[MV Preview] Notorious MSG – “Red Tonight”
Hot off the release of their brand new album Heavy Ghetto, the Notorious MSG have just posted up an MV trailer for the first single – “Red Tonight”. It looks like we can expect a lot of retro-infused hilarity… a seemingly perfect fit for the musical comedy trio. I’m starting to think MSG & Lyrics Born might have to do a collab. They are both artists with an absurd amount of creative energy; the idea is so crazy it just might work. Anyway, look for the MV to drop in the near future.

That’s right folks. You’ve been hearing about it for months but the day has finally come for the release of the brand new, full length feature album Heavy Ghetto from the comedy rap trio known as the Notorious MSG. You get 10 zany tracks courtesy of members Hunan Bomb, Down-Lo Mein and Hong Kong Fever. The album is available on their website as well as the usual online retailers – iTunes & Amazon. Their humor isn’t for everyone but if you are one of their fans, this release is long overdue.

The Notorious MSG Reveals New Promo Video
This clip is just too ridiculous not to share. As part of their ongoing promotion for their album Heavy Ghetto, due Tuesday 5/24, the Notorious MSG just dropped a psuedo interview/EPK/promo video full of their trademark antics and chaotic but humorous nonsense. Don’t forget the album is available for pre-order if you can’t wait for Tuesday to whip out the wallet.

The Notorious MSG Shares New Album Teaser – Drops May 24th
There ya go, we finally have an official release date. Comedy/Music trio Notorious MSG will release a brand new full length album on May 24th called Heavy Ghetto, just a month ago. They’ve already released two album teasers (one and two), this is the third. I honestly have no idea what to expect from the guys, but I imagine that’s part of the whimsical appeal. Mark your calenders for the new album!

The Notorious MSG are equally ridiculous as they are hilarious. This is yet another example. A simple, short acoustic promo video where they song about their upcoming album. I truly have no other words… just a mixture of laughter and confusion… which I imagine may be their purpose all along.
The Notorious MSG Announce New Album – Heavy Ghetto
Folks, don’t think for a second that The Notorious MSG are done yet. Just announced, they will be dropping a brand new, full length album in May of this year. It’s currently titled Heavy Ghetto. These guys tend to split the crowd but I for one think they are hilarious (most of the time). The crew is serious about the craft and rarely break character and hopefully this album will bring about a lot of new material for a new generation of viewers who may have missed them during their initial mid 2000′s run.

The good folks at ChannelAPA have landed an interview with the group Notorious MSG and as expected, it’s a hilarious clip. The trio are like an asian, zany, musical version of Stephen Colbert, never breaking character and always representing the image they’ve crafted for nearly the last decade. Of course it wouldn’t be an MSG interview without some ridiculous quotable and one-liners, so check it out as it’s worth the view for the entertainment value alone!
