Olivia T x Michelle Martinez x Jessica Sanchez to Perform for MYX TV Concert in Monterey Park, CA – 8/27
Continuing with their usual trend of putting together great line ups, MYX TV is bringing you So Cal folks the Front N Center: Divas Downloaded concert event featuring Olivia T, Michelle Martinez & Jessica Sanchez as the triple feature headliners. The show is a completely free affair and will be held on August 27th (a week from today) at the Atlantic Times Square in Monterey Park. Stay afterwards for a Meet & Greet as well.
The Acoustic Youtube Cover Round Up – 7/20/11
There’s been an influx of acoustic Youtube covers lately and I thought I should share some of them with you. Here’s a quick collection of gems that I found including one of the best “Someone Like You” covers I’ve heard yet, a great Lil Wayne remix, some interesting and unexpected collabs and more. Olivia Thai Releases New Single – “Stalemate” [Free DL]
Singer/songwriter Olivia Thai mostly posts up covers on Youtube but today she’s released her new single titled “Stalemate”. It’s a slow, acoustic ballad but this is the best I’ve heard Olivia in recent memory. I’m really liking this song though the accompanying performance video is a little dull (just one shot of her singing in front of the cam). The song is available for free DL if you tweet about it via this link. A solid release from Ms Thai.
News Quickies 9-24-10: “Just the Way You Are” Cover Edition
Soooo, this is getting a bit crazy. Bruno Mars has quickly become one of the most covered artists on Youtube. I log into Youtube and my subscription yields a ton of singers doing a rendition of one of his songs. I swear to you, it’s at least one new video every day. And most of them are of “Just the Way You Are”. Typically I would do a showdown, but it’s already been done for this song!
Instead of posting about each one I’ve decided to condense it into one post.
First we got David Choi singing and playing on the banjo (as he did for his FM cover).
Next is Traphik doing a parody . I thought it was pretty hilarious actually. He calls it “Only From Afar”.
Kina Grannis. This one is def one of my favorites.
AJ Rafael, Kat Badar, Olivia Thai, Michelle Martinez & More Feature in IYAZ MV
IYAZ is no stranger to the world of Youtube, and has gone on to create a special online version of his MV for “So Big”. The new MV features webcam cuts of some our favorite artists like AJ Rafael, Kat Badar, Olivia Thai, and Michelle Martinez along with a bunch of other Youtube celebs. It’s a fun watch, but it’s too bad everyone is just lip syncing. Even still, it’s a great nod of respect from the established singer.

Olivia Thai covers One Republic – Apologize
R&B/Pop singer/youtube hit Olivia Thai has released her first single, a cover of One Republic’s Apologize. She sang it well but it stuck pretty closely to the original. I look forward to seeing what she will do in the future.
