The Jam Session Youtube Covers Round-Up 2/27/12

When you put a bunch of talented artists in a room with instruments and a camera, the inevitable Youtube jam session is going to occur. That’s the binding theme among today’s round-up, with all the covers being mostly raw footage of artists and their friends (and sometimes family) singing their hearts out to their favorite songs of the moment. How’s an even dozen sound to you? It’s a lot? Well you better get started!

The Remix MVs Youtube Round-Up – 9/15/11

Hard to believe it’s already mid-September! Oh well, another day, another batch of recent Youtube covers & remixes. THis time, our round-up is based around the art of the remix MV. These are all songs and beats used by some of our favorite artists where extra time was taken into putting together a video with decent production values. You won’t find any one-shot, pocket cam, singing-in-the-bedroom videos in this batch. Check out Prizzy’s flip on Kreayshawn, J. Reyez & Toestah making “Headlines”, DANakaDan x Abraham Lim and friends doing some One Republic, a little KPOP instrumental switch-up by producer FortLeeMusic, MDE over a J. Cole beat, and the Fung Bros. & friends remixing a ubiquitous Pitbull song.

FM Featured on Billboard.com

FM’s single “Like a G6″ has been shooting up the Billboard charts and the market sales tracking organization took notice, featuring the group on their website. Besides their recent success, Billboard also reveals some details about FM’s upcoming major label debut – Free Wired. It looks like we can expect features from some big names like Snoop, Keri Hilson, Lil’ Jon, Pitbull and Ryan Tedder of One Replublic. In fact, the collab with Ryan is currently slated to be FM’s next released single. Look for the album October 12th!

Jae Jin Covers… Pretty Much Everything

Check out this interesting cover of a medley of 6 (yes, SIX) pop and R&B songs. The medley uses ‘Replay’ by IYAZ as the base (seems like no singer’s youtube account is complete without this one) and also incorporates ‘No One’ by Alicia Keys, ‘Love Like This’ by Natasha Bedingfield, ‘Apologize’ by One Republic, ‘Love in this Club’ by Usher, and ‘So Sick’ by Ne-Yo.

The singer is a guy named Jae Jin from Baltimore, MD. He doesn’t have a ton of material out online yet but I was pretty impressed with the way he fused all those different songs together accompanied by his friend on guitar. Given, there were a couple rough transitions here and there but it’s still a great watch/listen.
