Sam Tsui Presents the Summer Medley 2011

We try to avoid covering too many covers on a-Tunes, and instead tend to lump them together in our Youtube round-ups but when you kill it like Sam Tsui, it’s almost a shame not to share. In this clip he does what he’s known to do best with Kurt and puts together a great mash-up of this past Summer’s hits. So without further ado, enjoy the Summer Medley 2011. See if you can pick out all the songs that made the cut. Add this one to your play list too, cause it’s a freebie.

Just ‘Cause: The North Korean Party Rock Anthem

Just ‘Cause time! Saw this over at KoreAm the other day. It’s equally ridiculous as it is entertaining with a pinch of creepiness. Some Youtube user decided to splice in footage from North Korean video clips to the Summer 2011 staple, “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. It’s really kind of surreal to watch… don’t you think?

Just ‘Cause: You Wish Your TI Calculator Could Do Math Like This

I spotted this over at AAM a little while back but forgot to post about it. Long story short, a Math teacher at Troy High School in Fullerton California likes to liven up her instruction a little bit… and instead uses the magic of dance to illustrate graphing equations. Slopes, Quaradatic Formulas, and Parabolas oh my! I have no idea what I’m talking about… I spent most of my days as a youth in Math class playing Drug Wars and Tetris on my graphing calculator. Oh, and snake. Can’t forget about snake.

But I have to say, if I had a teacher half as passionate as the one that organized this little stunt, it’s quite possible I would have paid attention. Maybe… for a little bit…

On another note… can we please let “Party Rock Anthem” die out now?

Maribelle Anes Features in the “Melbourne Rock Anthem” MV with Kimmi Smiles & Louna Maroun

The young youtube star from down under known as Maribelle Anes has recently contributed to a remix/cover project of the ubiquitous ”Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. She joined Kimmi Smiles and Louna Maroun for what they have appropriately re-dubbed the “Melbourne Rock Anthem” where they do a decent job of creating the spirit of the original MV. They didn’t exactly re-invent the wheel but it’s still pretty impressive what kids can accomplish now.

Quest Crew Performs with LMFAO on So You Think You Can Dance

Here’s a little clip of the Quest Crew, backing up the party rap group LFMAO for their performance of “Party Rock Anthem” on a recent episode of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. It’s basically an extension of LFMAO’s music video where the Quest boys were also heavily featured in. SYTYCD is the perfect venue for the crew, where some of the members have even competed before becoming notorious for their ABDC win in season 3.
