Just ‘Cause: B-Boy Solomon
Do you know who PK is? You should. One could say he’s just as influential as any artist in creating a stage and spotlight for many of the artists that we know and love. The comedian and former Kollaboration director is also the father to a young lad named Solomon, who seems to share his old man’s goofiness and penchant for entertainment. Check out Solomon’s moves… ABDC Season 21 needs to watch out – he’s gonna own the stage. Step Up 12-D, starring Solomon Kim. It’s coming.
Kollaboration 11 – 11/5/11
Wow. It’s insane to think that the original Kollaboration is already at it’s 11th show. This year’s festivities in LA is ramping up as the show date quickly approaches – November 5th. The line-up includes a mixture of new faces and veterans alike including afterschoolspecial, Andrew Figueroa Chiang, Dawen and more. Even the guest performers billing is stacked with Clara C making a return appearance to the platform that helped launch her career along with a homecoming for former director and comedian, PK. In addition, current K-Pop sensation G.Na will be in the house too. Get ready! You can purchase tickets to the event here!

Peter Hong, perhaps better known as instrumentalist/musician/entrepreneur Peter Rocks, got some spotlight of his own with an interview on BPMnet hosted by PK and Jazmin‘s Felicia Khong. PK x Dan aka Dan Rock Out with a “Bad Haircut”
I can’t say I was expecting this one but comedian PK has teamed up with afterschoolspecial’s Dan aka Dan for a silly little music video called “Bad Haircut”. Dan is known as the veteran rock-rapper but PK held his own behind the mic too; though I guess we already knew about that. The only problem now is the phrase “hair cut slut” is going to be stuck in my head for days. An entertaining if ridiculous watch.

Look at that line up. Great musicians performing great music for a great cause. Paul Dateh, Joseph Vincent, Quest Crew, comedian Paul PK Kim, Clara Chung, Kaba Modern & Jennifer Chung are all coming together to support the fight against hepatitis B. They will be performing at Rutgers University on September 28th but attendance of the Art Exhibit the day prior is mandatory for entrance to the concert. If it weren’t for the fact that Rutgers is 4 hours away and it’s the middle of a work week, I would totally be there… but for all of you in or around Jersey, don’t miss this show. The good people at HypnoticAsia were in attendance of last week’s Kollaboration Acoustic 4 event, where we reported Dawen took top honors. There are a bunch of names I recognize including Esna Yoon, Lilian Bui and Dawen along with a bunch of people I’m not so familiar with but look forward to hearing more about. These guys are hilarious. Great parodies of some well known KPOP songs. This event clearly has some backing, could it crop up and emerge as a rival to the Hollywood Bowl for the honor of biggest KPOP/Asian American event? Just ‘Cause: PK Interviewed by Dumbfoundead
Comedian/Kollaboration founder PK spoke for a few minutes with Dumbfoundead behind the scenes at Kollaboration 10. The event, in it’s 10th year, is the last one with PK as the lead director behind the reigns as he moves on to focus on his comedy career. Kollaboration has been one of the most influential, highly regarded events for promoting asian-american talent as it’s grown and expanded to 10 (count em, TEN) cities.
