[Music Video] Priscilla Ahn – “Torch Song” (+ Interview w/ Vanity Fair)

Here’s the second MV in as many weeks by Priscilla Ahn in support of her latest album When You Grow Up. The latest is for the closing song of the LP – “Torch Song”. It’s another simple but elegant video that doesn’t lose Ahn’s grass-roots appeal. In fact, visually, I prefer it to her first video of the album for “I Don’t Have Time to Be In Love“. As a bonus, check out the interview of the singer by Vanity Fair! It’s posted after the break of head on over to VF.

[Music Video] Priscilla Ahn – “I Don’t Have Time to Be In Love”

This is the latest music video by Priscilla Ahn for the single “I Don’t Have Time to Be In Love” off her recently released album When You Grow Up. I haven’t seen it in full myself yet but I’ll be sure to update with my thoughts later. Until then, enjoy!

[update] I loved the concept of the video but it dragged a little bit and the green screen effect alternated between beautiful and cheesy. The song is fantastic though, and I’m glad she’s promoting it.

Priscilla Ahn Releases New Album – When You Grow Up

The latest album from Priscilla Ahn,  When You Grow Up, has finally dropped. We’ve already heard a number of songs from this release in one form or another including the title track, “I Don’t Have Time to Be In Love“, and more recently she shared “Oo La La” on Youtube. But now is your opportunity to get all 12 songs from a number of retailers including iTunes, Amazon and even Best Buy in both digital and physical formats. Don’t miss out!

Priscilla Ahn Reveals New Song with Charlie Wadhams – “I Don’t Have Time To Be In Love”

Folk/Pop singer Priscilla Ahn has shared a new song she’s written with Charlie Wadhams called “I Don’t Have Time To Be In Love”. It’s a slow but soothing song with just a touch country sentimentality. The video is a little barebones and I’m not entirely sure why Priscilla is dressed like a Quaker but I think with a little studio polish this could be a pretty decent song.

Priscilla Ahn Sings a “Song for Japan”

Priscilla Ahn is yet another amazing artist to use her art to support the struggling nation of Japan. This one is tentatively titled a “Song for Japan” and features Priscilla on the guitar and harmonica. She started this song years ago but just now finished it in light of all that has happened. It’s a gentle tune of hope and strength, one that I hope only encourages everyone to help out in any way they can. If you’re looking for ways to contribute, check out this article on various avenues to use for the cause.

Priscilla Ahn Cover’s John Lennon’s “Love”

As a special surprise Priscilla Ahn has released a cover of “Love” by the legendary John Lennon. It’s a slow, dreamy song with a perfectly matching quasi-music video to accompany it. On one hand, it was an awesome bonus to hear/see this today but on the other, this song will be available only in Japan unfortunately. So unless you’re a reader in the land of the rising son, you won’t be able to legitimately add this to your playlist. The video features her husband, actor Michael Weston.

Priscilla Ahn Releases New Single – “When You Grow Up” [Free DL]

It’s been too long since we’ve heard new music from the very talented Priscilla Ahn. She has a new album called When You Grow Up due out May 3rd of this year but even that feels far too long away. But thank our lucky stars because she’s posted up the title track from said album for the world to hear and better yet, to DL for free (via the widget below). It’s a little bit of a different sound for her , as she takes on a classic type of a/c sound, but I’m digging it. Don’t miss out.

The Sweet Hurt Interviews w/ Radio Free Silver Lake

Wendy Wang aka The Sweet Hurt recently had an interview with Radio Free Silver Lake where they discuss a lot about her new self titled album and everything that went into it. You’ll get to read about all the contributing folks that helped bring the record to fruition along with how it differs from her previous EP releases. In particular she mentions her working and personal friendships with Priscilla Ahn & Bobby Choy (aka Big Phony). Catch the interview in full after the break of make the jump to RFSL.
