Jennifer Chung Covers ‘Pyramid’ By Charice

Here at a-Tunes we have an unofficial policy where we don’t post up every single cover video a singer posts up on Youtube simply because some are better than others and there are often too many to keep track of. Exceptions include multi-artists collabs, “can’t miss” performances, and when Asian artists pay homage to other Asian artists. Luckily this video fits almost all that criteria as JC once again enlists the help of Johnny on the guitar, she sings Charice’s hit song w/ IYAZ – “Pyramid“, and she kills it. Great job!

Charice Pempengco x IYAZ – “Pyramid” MV Released

A few weeks back we announced that Charice was releasing a new single featuring IYAZ entitled “Pyramid”. Well yesterday the MV dropped for the catchy pop single. I haven’t had the chance to check it out myself but I’ll put int my two cents later tonight.

[edit] Now that I’ve had the chance to check out the video/song in full I can say I like the track, but don’t love it. It’s great to listen to as long as you don’t pay too much attention to the lyrics, which consist of the typical vague imagery type of drivel found in most adult contemporary songs such as those the winners of American Idol are usually forced to sing. But other than that it’s a catchy, mid-tempo number, IYAZ was a great choice as a feature as he helps mix things up and keep things current, and there’s no doubt that Charice can sing. The girls got a voice and style well beyond her years. The video is simple but decent enough. Pretty decent overall. [/edit]

Charice Previews New Single w/ IYAZ – “Pyramid”

Singing child prodigy Charice Pempengco has released a teaser of her upcoming song “Pyramid” featuring IYAZ and due to be released Tuesday, February 23 (next week!)

It sound’s pretty current and well produced, and IYAZ is undoubtedly a popular Top 40 artist to work with so I think these are pretty wise moves on behalf of her and her management. The song sounds promising and keeps her image youthful but not overly so and without abandoning her core audience (let’s be frank, the Oprah watching mothers love her).

Support the kid on Tuesday!
