This could be our biggest round-up yet. We’ve got more music videos of covers and remixes for you, so no one-take-sessions or studio sessions here. These are those Youtube videos where the audio and video were done at different times, requiring that much more work to bring you just a few minutes of entertainment a piece. So if you’ve got some time to kill, go through this playlist of 14 (yes, FOURTEEN) MVs across various genres. Which ones are your favorites?

Lyrics Born Leaks Remix to “The Bay” from ‘Lyrics Born Variety Show Season 5 On The Floor’

With Lyrics Born Variety Show Season 5 On The Floor set to drop at the end of the month, it’s expected to see more nad more information leak about the project. In this particular case, it’s not just information, but an actual song to give us an idea of what’s to come. Those who have been following L Beezy for a while may remember a song called “The Bay” from the Same !@#$ Different Day album. Well this is the ‘Three-Mix’ and you can download it for free, here (it includes the song, the beat, and the acapella)!

Showdown:J-Ricz x Sizzle vs D-Pryde & Friends vs J-Reyez x Tommy C & Friends

It’s time for a  Showdown, where we have a little friendly comparison of artists that cover/remix the same songs and then vote for the one we think pulled it off better.

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa’s “Young, Wild & Free” (featuring Bruno Mars) has been a pretty popular song on the radio the past few months – and it’s easy to see why with it’s catchy melody, easy hook and laid back raps. So we can’t say we’re too surprised to see a few remixes up on Youtube – making the song perfect candidate for our Showdown feature. What makes these remix/covers particularly interesting is that due to the nature of Youtube and copyright/licensing issues, each of the artists had the beat re-created to avoid being flagged on the flagship video streaming site; adding just an extra dashs of creativity and helping to keep each version distinct from the other.

J-Ricz x Sizzle

D-Pryde x Boogz Boogetz x Peter Kirk

J. Reyez x Tommy C x Tycoon x Hangman

So which group of artists had your flavor du jour? J-Ricz & Sizzle? D-Pryde & company? J. Reyez, Tommy C, and all the extra cameos? Don’t forget, you have so much power in your hands right now. Your vote will determine…. well, it only really determines who has the highest number of votes with no true qualitative value, but who cares! That’s what being Young, Wild & Free is all about right? Voting in a meaningless poll? Hello?… You still there?

The Frank Ocean Covers Round-Up – 2/3/12

Frank Ocean has been a rather popular artist to cover recently, so we threw together a quick round-up of covers by Jeremy Passion, Maribelle Anes, Erin Kim, Verseatile, New Heights, Andy Ha, and Jae Jin. There are two songs here, “Thinking About You” and “We All Try”, and some chose to switch things up while others played it by the book – singing over the official instrumental. Enjoy your Friday!

The International Cover/Remix Round-Up 2/2/12

We decided to go international with this round-up. Each of these songs are from Asian countries and covered by some of your favorite stateside artists. K-Pop? J-Pop? C-Pop? It’s all here, plus multiple genres are represented too – so you get double the variety. 1 Million Bonus points if you can understand every word sung in these songs!

The Youtube Collab Round-Up – 1/31/12

We figured why not end the last day of the first month with a new batch of Youtube covers. This round-up is another sampling platter of collaborations among different artists. There’s a lot of acoustic music in this particular grouping, with one particular exception. As always, the production qualities vary wildly but there should be something for everyone to enjoy.

Catch the “Warriors Tongue” (Remix) MV by Masia One

With the April 5th release date for Masia One‘s LP, Bootleg Culture, inching closer – the MC has released a new music video project set to the remix of her lead single, “Warriors Tongue“. It’s always refreshing to see someone of the fairer sex represent in world of Hip-Hop. After a couple of listens, I think I might actually prefer this remix over the original – but maybe it’s cause it’s Friday morning and I’m partial to something lively at the moment.

The Youtube Pop Covers Round-Up – 1/27/12

Happy Friday! This is yet another collection of youtube covers, this time around the centralizing genre is Pop. There are some extremely creative visuals here, along with some of the more run-of-the-mill-and-sing-in-front-of-a-webcam varieties, but all in all there’s a little something for everyone. We’ve got tunes from various decades, dating back from the 70′s – so it’s kind of interesting to hear what was and is Pop. Enjoy!

Traphik Jumps on the “Gas Money” Remix by Destorm, DeshawnRaw, and StevenJo

Deshawn Raw had a Youtube hit last spring with his single “Gas Money”. And now, Traphik jumped on the remix along with a couple of other artists like Destorm and StevenJo and of course DeshawnRaw. Watch as the crew travels around California, rapping about their low petrol woes. It’s a decent novelty single, though time will tell whether it has replay value.
