afterschoolspecial x The Dreamlapse Project Debut MV for “Dreamers”

Now this is a pretty cool watch. Sometimes good things take time to come to fruition. Such is the case with the music video to “Dreamers” from afterschoolspecial‘s album, It’s All In Your Head. For this music video, they enlisted the new “it” team of the moment, The Dreamlapse Project to create a fun visual in the first person format a la Prodigy. And to help with the project, they’ve gotten everyone to make a cameo and join along for the ride. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. Check out the notes after the video below for the complete list of talent as well as a link to the BTS post.

Thanks so much to Daniel and Scott from The Dreamlapse Project for partnering up on this music video. We first started talking about this project almost a year ago, and to see it finally come together with the finished project is a beautiful thing. They really went above and beyond to get this video done so high five to them. Also a HUGE thanks to everyone who made a cameo in the video. Thanks for giving of your time to take part in what i see as such a community collaboration. Inspiring. Cathy Nguyen, Aj Rafael, David Choi, Jason Chen, Jennifer Chung, Joseph Vincent, Toestah, Arika Sato, Kevin Lien, Dawen, Paul Dateh, Andi Terada, Geo and Chuck of Instant Noodles Crew, Wong Fu Productions, and Ryan Higa. Another important note is this video is that NONE of this would be possible without the backing and work of afterschoolspecial who need their due credit- Jaylen Green, Keane Aranita, Todd Olson, Brian Figueroa, and Victor Velasquez.

Just ‘Cause: The Jubilee Project Presents “Be the Change”

The great folks at the Jubilee Project always tends to put together great videos, focusing on amazing themes and causes. Their latest project puts some of our favorite artists and Youtube stars on the spot, asking them what is important to them and what they would like to see change and happen in this world. There is a ton of talent in this clip, and it encourages you to join the conversation – perhaps in the hope that once we talk about it, we just might be able to take the next step and do something about it.

For the new year, The Jubilee Project took some time to interview some YT friends about the changes that they would like to see in the world. We really believe that life is a gift and ordinary people can do extraordinary things. We hope that this video encourages you to live life to the fullest this year and be the change you want to see in the world.

Twitter us @jubileeproject with your responses #BetheChange – What is one thing you’d like to see changed in the world? What is one organization/cause you feel strongly about? What would you do if you had one last day to live?

Special thanks to BU CSA Takeout and all of the YT stars that took part in this video.

YTF Sings “Ho Ho Ho”

YTF (kevjumba, nigahiga, Dtrix, Andrew Garcia, JRA, Victor Kim, Chester See) have uploaded a silly video to promote a silly song, “Ho Ho Ho”, off their recently released Christmas album. All the members of this musical/dance/comedy troupe are present and as goofy as ever. The song has gone through some transformations since we first heard it, but the premise is the same… don’t be a Ho.

YTF Releases the ‘YTF Christmas Album’

We’re going to have to request a late pass for this one. Earlier this month, multi-talented super group YTF (Ryan, Kev, Chester, Victor, D-Trix, JR and Andrew) released a self titled Christmas album together. The like minded crew of singers, dancers, comedians and more are grasping the opportunity to play off each other’s strengths and entertain their ever-growing audience. The release is a 5 song EP and is available from both Amazon & iTunes.

  1. Ho, Ho, Ho (feat. Ryan Higa, Kev Jumba, Chester See, D Trix, Victor King, Andrew Garcia & Jra)
  2. 4 Your Kisses (feat. Chester See & Victor King)
  3. My Wish List (feat. Kev Jumba, Andrew Garcia & Jra)
  4. Give You My Love (feat. Andrew Garcia & Jra)
  5. Christmas Swag (feat. Ryan Higa & D Trix)

Clara C Releases the MV for “The Camel Song”

As previously announced, Clara C‘s latest music video, directed by the very talented Ross Ching, has just released for the world to see. The visuals easily reflect both Clara & Ross’s vision and talents and though we had no idea what to expect based off the teaser, it all makes sense now. The blending of actual paintings and illustrations with video was a great touch – and the addition of one of the biggest names in Youtube as the male lead – Ryan Higa – couldn’t have hurt either. Chalk this one up as another great addition to Clara and her team’s portfolio.

Megan Lee x Justin Chon Release a “Nice Guys” remix

Megan Lee has teamed up with actor Justin Chon for this remix/cover/parody MV of the songs “Nice Guys” – originally by Ryan Higa, Chester See and KevJumba. Megan & Justin’s version is titled “Nice Girls” and somewhat creepily features Justin in drag. It’s a humorous flip of an already humorous song but I’ll leave it up to you to judge how entertained you were.

You can watch the original versions after the break. Continue reading

David Choi x Ryan Higa x JRA Release Comedy Single & MV – “I’m Hardcore”

What do you get when you mix Youtube staples David Choi, Ryan Higa, JRA, rap, and autotune? Well… pretty much everything you’d expect. Here’s a ridiculous but humorous number from the trio featuring some cameos from some of the fellas of Wong Fu & Quest Crew. This is more akin to the SNL Digital Shorts that pop up once in a while. If this tickled your funny bone, you can purchase the single here.
